I bnotcied several serious problems with the CNC Master setup.
One the lectroytic filer cap is way too small for the amount of current drawn. Second, the ribbon cable for power is inadequate, third...
I had mentioned and several people requested a video of the machine doing something.
The cnc router is no longer scary as I lowered the rapid speed from 1700+ IPM down to 400 IPM....
The way I mounted the cable carrier wasn;t the way that I wanted to mount it but I was sort of forced into it because the loaction where it was planned for has an interferrence with the Y home and...
Maybe!. I want to add a 4th axis and most likely a 5th axis.
There are a few more ideas that I want to incorporate and I want to see what the reaction is to this machine.
Here is a video of my nearly finished cnc router/plasma cutter.

I have a bit more to do in that I have to build the plasma cutter...

Here is a picture of my mill drill running quite nicely with the MCG motors that I sell and my G320 servo amps...
Is your point cloud file just a plain XYZ ascii text file?
If so have you tried something like MS word?

Can you get an avi file format output? If so and you have a firewire connection then it should work. The scan for roating the object only takes 45 seconds.

My partner and I are now releasing our 3D circumference scanner kits for sale. This scanner uses a common video camera such as a Sony Handycam. It uses the camcorder to record a scan of an object...
1000 line encoders are nice but you may have a problem that the encoder resolution is to fine in that the Gecko only have a 4 bit(128) count error amp.
If you were to change to a 250 or a 500 line...
56C isn't bad but do you have a heasink and a cooling fan installed?
Mariss is on a crusie so he probaly doesn't have or want internet access.
I would vote for the G203's for several reasons. I have the G203 that I tested and am very happy with them. The only issue...
One of my customers had a cnc master control unit. He was unhappy with the software and the control unit. He bought one of my control units and is very happy. He decided to give me his CNC masters...
If you go with steppers, then I would get a 452 oz in step motor in a nema 34 frame with a .375 shaft then you will need a 14XL037 timing belt pulley even though the shoptask uses a 21XL037. On the...
I forgot to post a link to a video of my mill drill.

Not sured if I should jump in here but the G201 and G202 performance will be identical . Similarly the new G203 will have the same performance as the G201 and G202. The advantage of the G202 and the...
I heard your controls bit the dust. If you retorfitted it how did you take care of the ATC? I may have a chance to pick up one of the. The guy has two both in good mechanical condition. I offered to...
I sell quite a bit of cnc parts for shoptask's. They use 452 oz in stepper motors on the XYZ axis. They also use Gecko G201 Drivers. See my web site at www.camtronics-cnc.com

Looks good. But I notcied one thing. I can't see the 470 UF caps on terminals 1 and 3 of the G201. While your motors may run smooth the internal 100 uf cap may be getting warm or even hot due to the...
Here si the link to the video I sad I would post showing mach3 running the new G203 drivers on my mill drill retrofitted with ballscrews

You can email this guy and he can tell you what he thinks about cncmasters

The choice of a G201 over a G203 really relies on your application and implementation of it. Sure, you will get about the same performance from the G201 as you will from the G203. But the G201...
I haven't tested any of the Nema42's but have ran some of the 1303 oz in Nema 34's. They ran fine. If I was going to make a decision on the G201 verses the G203 I would select the G203 because it has...
Yesterday I installed my 3 axis control box using the new G203 on
my mill drill. The mill drill has been retrorfitted with ballscrews
and my 452 oz in stepper motors. The ballscrews are a bit on...
I received some of the first batch of G203's that Geckodrive is now
selling. I installed them in the same 3/4 axis case that I use for
my G201 and G210 step motor systems. The installation was...
I have sold quite a few servo systems and servo motors for full size mill/drills.
I have my own controls and motors mounted on my mill drill. to answer your question I need some of the parameters....
While I like steppers quite a bit I have converted all of my machines including a mill/drill similar to the RF45 to servo. Servos are smoother, quiter and don't suffer from lost steps and resonance....
