I've been plotting to add a plasma torch to my CNCRP Pro 60120.. and thought I'd share this design and get feedback from the forum.
When using the plasma, I will fab up a protective cover for the...
I run servos with a 3.5kw spindle on mine.
Wiring was more complicated for the servos but the vfd and spindle is pretty straightforward - just bigger wire. Make sure you get the super flexible...
Am running DMM 750w servos which bolt right into the NEMA34 fittings.
Lots of torque and super accurate once calibrated thanks to the encoders.
The setup is much more involved given each servo...
Thanks everyone .. did it with pallet jack and a hydraulic lifting table.
Was nerve wracking to try and synchronise the lifting and dropping to not bend the table.
Will need to replace the...
I want to reorganise space inside my shed (rotate 90deg and move 4 feet) and was wondering if anyone's got
advice on how to move the table around safely ..
(Ideally not having to take it apart)...
Thanks UG
The spindle is from eBay, and seems to be OK. It's a 300Hz max freq 18,000rpm 3.5kW ER25 which seems to have enough torque. Good value as I think spindles are a wear item in the long...
Yes Gary the clicking is nothing serious unless the green sleeve is so loose that the Oldham collar pops up out of the seat :)
Says the guy who accidentally used the auto zero macro without the...
The green coloured sleeve with the grub screws in it holds the Oldham collar down.. so if the grub screws are tight but the collar is too high from the bottom, then the Oldham collar will wobble...
Check that these grub screws are tight and that the ballscrew ends are firmly located. Mine were loose and they do come loose without loctite.

No more dust and a lot more noise .. but do one thing and you have to deal with another... 100% spoilboard and...
I think the VFD will take 110v input
But I’d avoid that whole item on Amazon.
The specs say it is a water cooled spindle but the photo is an air cooled one.
Generally dodgy.

Noticed a few updates !
i. Changes to sensors and improved the proximity sensor placement to do away exposing the sensors to damage.
ii. Also eliminated need for 2 X Axis sensors
iii. Z Axis...
To avoid going to and from my keyboard/mouse and the CNC machine, I was thinking about a touch screen monitor (23" Acer) mounted on a remote arm on the CNC table, and
when I looked at the VistaCNC...
Some progress..
I took some time out to build a CNC enclosure for my Lulzbot Taz6 Printer. This was absolutely necessary as my 3D Printing designs were getting big and the ABS was warping. The...
Here’s the sample prints for sizing (I was out by 1mm :p)

I thought about it.. maybe will try some bigger ones..
Here's more design progress, and did a test print which fitted perfectly.
Thought I'd share my next activity.. I've really been having fun with a CNCRP PRO and a good 3D Printer.
I looked at the CNCRP dust hood and was looking at something a bit more interesting.

My workshop has a central dust extraction system with blast gates.. maybe the fact I was surfacing the MDF with a 60mm wide bit (2mm depth of cut @12000rpm) has something to do with it ?

Sorry folks there is a strip brush surround but not in that particular photo!
The dust extractor is a 5hp 1500cfm cyclone.. i still have to wear hearing protection because of the spindle and...
Tried it out but doesn’t pick up dust flying off the other end of the spindle so not super effective.
Going to 3D print a duct out of ABS that wraps around the spindle .. should be a fun Fusion...
Something like this ?

And I also have made a bolt on tray for your touch plate and an Xbox controller holder :)

Glad it’s been useful to you.. also found some 4080 profile cable clips on thingiverse that are brilliant for routing cables :)

You have to think about inrush current and the servo drive (which has a large bank of capacitors).. if you switch on all four servo drives simultaneously you can generate a large inrush much higher...
Flicked through all of this..
I run UCCNC, ETH300/UB1, DMM 750w servos on a CNCRP60120.. Xbox for remote control, fusion360 for CAD/CAM. 3.5kw Chinese spindle.
It’s a solid system and am still...
I don't think it would be too hard to machine this out of a block of nylon.
Let me know if you have trouble figuring out dimensions for what you need.
But on Thingiverse someone can print them...
If you’re using steppers you don’t have encoder and power cables per motor.. should have plenty of space on the 75mm insert
There’s a spare wire slot on the 50mm insert even for me.
There’s a...
Here’s the little ones :)
