Here is my dust collector thread. It shows the v1 version. I've modified it since then but it is the same concept still

I use the good material because I want to test in the exact environment it is cutting under. Forces on the machine are different between wood and carbon fiber.
I had an "aha" moment yesterday. I...
I received my new cutting bits and am still having the same issues. It just won't behave. I checked the machine and it is tight and smooth in all axis. A couple bearings were a hair loose but not...
Well, I thought I did. As you can see from the pics below, not so. I have more experimenting to do.
The recess is milled with a 1/8" bit and the hole is plunge drilled with the same router bit....
So I spent a lot of "quality time" with the machine tonight doing various tests. Looks like its not the machine at all but the bits. I was getting diamond coated diamond cut 3/32" router bits from...
Why is this happening? I have been milling shock towers for R/C cars for a while now. With my latest batch, the work is shifting for some reason. The actual material isn't, but rather where the...
Thanks. I'll check that tomorrow
It seems that the faster I cut (ipm), the less accurate my corners are. It is mostly when the machine changes directions. For instance, I cut some Bosch mounts today for my upgrade. Cutting at 30ipm,...

I know there is a Super-PID thread but it is huge and, as such, hard to find info in. I'm doing a makeover on my machine and upgrading to a Bosch Colt. Can you guys post up pics of how you mounted...
Carbon Fiber
I've achieved good results running the following:
12ipm
.040 cut depth
Diamond (or diamond-like) coated bits
High RPM
I just bought the least expensive hardware store water based latex and it is holding up great.
Here's the chassis I made for a scale R/C Jeep project I'm working on

The chassis itself was made using my Momus. It is 6061 aluminum, carbon fiber and...

Well crap! I can't go back and fix the links. The forum won't allow me to edit old posts. Now what?
Yup, I know all my pics have disappeared. I'm in the process of fixing it
Use any you want from my build

All the info above makes sense. I get a pretty good edge when the machine is just cutting in the X or Y direction only but when both motors are engaged to do a slanted cut is when the not so smooth...
Hmmmm.... This is kind of what I have been experiencing and I thought it was just belt stretch. The power supply I have is a 24V unit that I bought when I was going to use the TB6560 board. Once that...
Great dealer. That's where I got mine from.
Which dealer is it?
You do need the resistors
I did the same thing and bought the G540. Best thing I did. Great device
Thanks Gene. That was exactly correct. Got the threading die in today and I now have 2 working routers.
Chris
Thanks. I'll get one ordered.
For those wondering, my router died (I think) because the inner shield on the output bearing came loose allowing the bearing to ingest carbon fiber dust and...
I just rebuilt my router after a premature bearing failure. In the process, I messed up the threads on the shaft. Anyone know what the thread pitch is so I can use a die to clean up the threads?

Time for an update. I got the "O" cutters in and tried them out today. What a HUGE difference in quality. I'm cutting out some R/C car bulkheads from 6061 and it cuts like butter with little chatter....
That is very cool.
I get all my carbon fiber panels from DA Graphite. Good company very good quality graphite.
