There are two parameters that you will need to change to increase your spindle speed:
131-MAX SPINDLE RPM
183-Sp MAX FREQ
(PAR 183= MAX SPINDLE SPEED / 3 * 10)
So for 6000 RPM:
You're not doing anything wrong. As I said earlier, the lathe IPS software can't create arcs (2 or 3), only rapids and lines.

Your're right, of course, you can do it with G code, without CAM - I was referring to the original question about creating the shape in the IPS profile creator software - can't be done, as far as I...
We've found similar limitations. The lathe profiling software, unlike the mill, doesn't give you the ability to create CW or CCW arcs, just rapid moves or lines. You CAN, however, fillet 2 lines.

Thanks to all for the info. We have decided to go with the enclosure, as we will have the need to use flood coolant at least part of the time. We have an SL-10 for small (short) parts, but need the...
Looking at a new TL-2, it would be our first TL-series lathe. Want your opinions, is the full enclosure a pain to deal with, or fairly easy to work around? I assume it can be overridden, like the...
You're exactly right, that's how Haas markets. There are several "must have" options (which can vary depending on what you make) most people add to a Haas of any size. The good news is, all the...
We have both MiniMills, and a TM1, all with extended memory & high speed machining options. Extended memory allows larger files to be loaded (vs. drip feeding - never been a big fan of that). Don't...
Good question, they didn't have any splines on the demo at IMTS, pretty simple lines & arcs. Haas_Apps, care to weigh in on some of this?
Ed
Good point, Donkey, low end CAD (small $$) to handle DXF creation & editing would suppliment the new Haas DXF toolpathing ability very well. People looking at this way of doing things just need to...
Re: the old Haas laser, found this press release online, dated August 2002:

We saw the DXF demo at IMTS, and it was interesting enough, although there were a few bugs (they said they will be fixed before release). I question how useful this will be, though, for less than...
Spoken like a die-hard G-code programmer! Whom I have great respect for, BTW, as an old G-coder myself. But I niether bash nor praise Mastercam, it just happens to be what I know & use now. It is...
I agree with the others, using mirror or sign reversal at the machine will give mixed results - I wouldn't, on what's evidently a complex part.
But Mastercam CAN do this - just not with 1 or 2...
Thanks, Andrew & Mike, as usual, I was looking too deep - a simple brake off code before the toolpath did the trick.

Hi all,
We have a TR-110 (really small trunion!), and have been successful in working through learning 5-axis positioning setup & programming. We're moving on to 5-axis simultaneous stuff, and...
Nickitec,
Your further description strikes me as not normal. Servo "hum" can be OK to a point, but if the machine is sitting idle, and you see movement on an indicator (if this is what you are...
I would say, yes, this is normal, because when using the handle, the motors are starting / stopping quickly. For indicating, use the jog lock feature for a smooth move along an axis.

Awesome83 got it right in post #4 - knowing the formula for parameter 183 is the key. We are running the spindle in at 6K as I type. Thanks!

Good morning,
I've been a lurker for some time, and find this forum a great resource - thanks to all. We have 10 Haas machines, and I hope to be of help from time to time.
I have seen threads...
