Re: HY VFD to control ssr's

    That's a great idea.
    What controller do you use?
How did you tell it not move? Is it looking for a voltage?

    HY VFD to control ssr's

I'm just getting ready to use a HY vfd and I want to control a couple of ssr's to control the water pump and a vacuum.
Haven't even powered on the VFD yet but I wanna get the wiring done.
    So I...

Re: G-Code Ripper - Scale, Rotate and Split G-code

Yeah, I kinda came to that conclusion but haven't tried it yet. Seems like that would be the answer though.
I assume, run the autoprobe, save "probe only", run your example with the "probe only"...

    Adding a rotary

Thinking of adding a rotary axis to my machine and looking for some suggestions.
Right now I use the UCCNC ETH400 with port 1 going to a Gecko G540. All 4 ports are used.
I would like to add the...

Re: G-Code Ripper - Scale, Rotate and Split G-code

Can't find an answer to this and haven't tried on my own yet so i figured I'd ask first.
If I'm using a touch probe in my spindle, can I probe the surface, then put in a tool and cut?
    Would I zero...

Not to hijack this but I think my question fits here...

    Sticky: Re: Joe's CNC 4x4 Evolution 1.0

I'm curious how the base top is secured to the base stands on the EVO?? Is it bolted? Is there enough room to clear the bolt heads on the v bearings?

Re: Super-PID new low-cost router speed controller

So as an update, I got the on/off working by powering the SuperPID and ESS from the same source. I noticed when they were powered separately the SuperPID "R" would flash. So it was getting the signal...

Re: Super-PID new low-cost router speed controller

It's my understanding that the spindle direction in Mach3 IS the on/off.
Pin 16 should be going from 0 to 5v (with 0v being a run command)... why do you say that's a wiring issue?

Re: Super-PID new low-cost router speed controller

Interesting. No where in any documentation does it say that. Not very well written documentation to say the least.
I'll try pin 14 for PWM, but that still doesn't explain why I can't even get the...

    2 anti-backlash nuts per axis

Just wondering what the consensus is on putting an anti-backlash nut on both sides of a Z carriage, for the Y axis, and both sides of a gantry for the X axis?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me... Can't come up with a need for 20 nuts anyway I do it. I can come up with 18, 19 or 22 even, but can't see 20.
