It's an extrusion mounted to another extrusion that's anodized. If the table is flat within 10 thou it would be a miracle.

So theoretically if just bench testing using single phase 220 you should be able to jump R & S to L1 & L2?

I'm familiar with techno and would say that your current machines are already superior to them in pretty much every aspect other than dust protection. The Bosch extrusions on those machines are...
George, chasing accuracy in extruded aluminum is a pipe dream. If they can miraculously hold tolerance then certainly it won't be for any amount of time or significant footage unless your willing...
Hi Chris
Can't really tell from the pictures but it appears that the ends of the screws are threaded? Can u confirm?

The only 24v requirement should be for the enable pin
The s&d will work on the 5v
The manual also says single ended is not recommended
The newer ultra 1500 manual explains a little better...
I would level my base as best as possible then build a shallow form at the perimeter, pour epoxy to get as flat as possible where your bearings will be.
Other than that, I might contact a...
Teknic Clearpath MC. Very cost effective too

The smoothstepper will also allow you better resolution. You can increase the gear # in firmware and steps per rev in mach and it should be significantly smoother
Ok, trying to run high freq. spindle with automation direct inverter. Can get it to run but not sure about settings and the spindle is getting hot quickly. I'm familiar with about how warm an...
Thanks...i think. I was about to start a thread. I guess the answer to my question is that the g540's pins 1-4 wont see anything less than 12v. I'm using opto's that take from 5-25v and was...
I too would be very interested in Mariss professional opinion on the motors and drives u show. If Gecko made something like that I'd b first in line to buy it
Thanks Al
gonna go ahead and give it a shot.
If you dont mind me asking, what do you do there? tech support, sales, development? Reason i ask is i have a few other ideas i'd like to talk about.
Al, thanks a million. Exciting!
I probably should have been more specifice as to exactly what i'm after, so to get directly to the point....I want to be able to go to the cam tree with a flat...
Hi
I'm wondering if any new users have had a chance to play with 4 axis standard. Currently have v24 and havent been impressed with how it handles the rotary but i love the bobcad interface so i...
I'm guessing your suggesting a post mod? maybe a setting elsewhere? I'm certainly willing
Thanks Jesse, actually tried that as well as exploding before exporting from autocad. Have verified that all arcs are actually line segments before export.
thanks for the reply. actually tried that and pretty much everything under the sun i could think of. Ended up just drawing a hatch pattern and using it for pocketing toolpath but machined it with...
Hi
I'm wondering if its possible in Bobcad to define internal and external corners as "sharp" while pocketing. Basically i'm needing to post without i's and j's and i'm guessing this is the only...
Hi,
I have the g540 kit with 380oz motors from Ahren and it runs flawless, i guess i got lucky because it makes little to no noise.
I recently built a machine for a friend who ordered a deep...
looks great
Ever built one for mach? ballpark pricing for one similar to the last picture?
Hello, been a long time lurker and have followed the DMM stuff here for a while. Made the decision to go with the system based on the all zone feedback so thank you guys for all of your feedback.
