The software should run on an Imac, however.... I doubt you will ever get the USB printer port to function reliably as data timing/synchronization is almost impossible as you have no direct hardware...
We use a combination of items. The first is a printed decal, not easy to duplicate, then clear nail varnish/lacquer over that, when the lacquer breaks, it damages the decal, very difficult to make...

Not sure if rubber is the best option, as fine stuff is going to roll it's way in. Still pretty hard to beat a felt pad, and cheap to stamp/replace.

Your probably better getting the small manual mill to make the parts you can, and even convert the mill to CNC in order to make the parts you can't. You certainly won't regret having a small mill...
I love my Apples, PC's are only tollerated for control purposes. Like Geof, my first Apple II was used to control my first diy cnc platform, but you could hardly call it a controlled router!!!

Take a look at the Roland Modela MDX 15/20 machines. They have a good user base of jewellers, and come with a competant pack of software for use out the box. Very good for working wax and plastics,...
