    Yep sounds like motor surging, your motor controller card needs to be adjusted. My G0704 did that also when I first got it. Search Hoss's thread he has something on adjusting the motor controller...

    There is no shield from the motor just 4 wires. the shield runs the length of the cable and goes to the controller ground plane( single point ground).
