Thanks for the help kind of gives me something to look at. As of now im still in school but every tool i buy is a tool i can use at school to make my life easier. Problem runs into the cost.
...
Ok will im looking to get a job here sooner or later. Most if not all require you to have your own tools. Can you guys help me out and post what tools are required in your shop?
Vise? Change the collects for tool holders ?
thanks for the info on the endmills i will check them out
Where are you getting your endmills from? That's so cheap. As for the coolant rust would be my biggest problem.
If you can't change the rpm to 3k like others said, get carbide endmills they run at 8k or so.
chronon some of the best point cloud software is made in china i wonder why :P hehe Saw the new solidworks2007 going to have point cloud support ...
Thank you ronald for quoting in the message board i really like to see the prices you guys give. Nice to see what the going prices are for parts.
Yes and no , yes you can but most time doesn't work well for what i have seen.
good list Ron, maybe addon limit switches, maybe heavy duty bench if you dont have one.
Then i guess unless you dont have it endmills/drills ect, hold downs,collets/tool holders.
http://www.mcmaster.com/ "Telescoping Spring Steel Covers"
not that cheap :) I didn't use anything on mine. Just rubber covers for the back/bottom. Lets hope it was a good idea haha.
hehe what i ment was you can setup 3 switchs (3 home 6 limits) To me the cost is low and time saved with homing/safty of limits was worth it.
Chronon1,you're setup with the rubber safety sounds...
Man i couldn't live without home switches :)
I have my home setup as limits 9 birds with 3 stones :)
edit(what i was going to say has already been posted)
Just saying you're looking for more problems building a ak47/ar15 over 45.
when you build a ak47 you really don't save much money over buying one. but you can save a ton over a 45 clone. When...
You still have to replace and put in Ameican parts if you use a parts kit. Your only allowed so many foreign parts. Some the cheap kit barrels are to short, so you have to put on a big ugle muzzle...
For what i have seen, it will have less power and rpm . It may over heat so as long as you watch the heat should be ok.
If this is for production you could look into buying a 120/60 generator or...
ebay for 200-250. search for (40" Caliper) but they look china made.
My last couple china caliper worked nice but didn't last.
Looks like you can get a .001 40" verier for 100. Thats what i...
Thank you audioandy1762 that looks really good :)
Has anyone tryed to cut say 10%step .03 doc with a 1/16 endmill? (in aluminum)
When using the homing, mach disables the limiting system. After the homing is all done it will enable the limits and disable the homing system.
So all you have to do is hook all 3(?) switchs to...
Did anyone test your runout on any router/die grinder/dremel? widgitmaster did you test on the die grinder? or audioandy1762 did you test the Proxxon?
Anyone cut aluminum with a router/die...
What size is this project? I'm guessing it's small because of the great cost of carbon fiber .What about going with titanium? No easy to machine but you can do it....
seeing we're posting the the benchtop forums my guess is 90% of everything he is doing will be limited by his max rpm so ME PRO/ME free is so much easyer :)
Hello everyone
Right now i have a benchtop mill with max speed of 1500. So it's really killing me on time with little tools.
My options as i see them now are upgrade to a faster 1phase motor...
man i been around some time :) post that over year ago :P hehe As i remember,The old idea was to over drive my mill to a high speed but i ended up just keeping the slow rpm and building a new spindle...
Well if this is a router presision isn't going to matter i was speaking more for tir type error(out of round). If you have this type of error it will be hard to preload them without using some type...
In my opinion
Im sure it would help but i think it would be very hard to get any type of precision or a waste of time/money. I would just add more bearings to give it more support.
But time...
I would just use digikey.com Time you save will pay for the extra couple bucks you would save. prices around 10-15 for 100V-10,000 mfd(uF)
good thinking buscht :)
