Thanks for the reply man, I appreciate that and yes very frustrating but just part of the game
I do the same thing, soon as I get some weird stuff I restart the machine and launch a fresh session...
And yes, I agree, main reason for ME not wanting to upgrade is the endless learning Of bug work arounds. :-(
After hours of messing with it I ended using some random as heck combination of setting values for work feed and plunge feed individually and then other operation I had to use the other way and some...
this issue seems to pop up for me like every 2 years
the plunge feeds get all weird on me, no matter what i do i cant seem to control it, it just wants to default to 100% work feed for the plunge...
AND THE ISSUE IS BACK AGAIN, SO IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY 2 YEARS THIS ****ING ISSUE RAISES ITS DAMN HEAD.
My computer switch is always on per the tormach guys instructions when I switched to PP from Mach3, so as soon as I flip the side switch that powers up the controller. Well it’s suppose to anyway
machine has been running great for years, had a few hick ups here and there but nothing serious but now its down.
when I flip the side power switch ON, the controller does NOT turn on and I get...
and the problem is back...... lol
Ok, update.
So my sprutcam 9 allpost had the box checked to get updates from sprutcam, and apparently the update did something that wrecked my machine profiles and that was my issue, even though...
any one else have this issue before? spent hours with tormach on the phone, they cant do anything until Monday, so I'm dead in the water all weekend which is when I work in my shop. the guys at...
Are larger chucks even available ?
Oh damn, I accidentally hit report post.... lol my bad.
I meant to say that's exactly how I finished it, 0.25" DOC passes but I want the cleaner look of a full DOC pass.
Yes, I agree. I was hoping to use this for machining flywheels form scratch.
Thanks for the info
Thanks guys, they advertise the heck out that 15" swing so I figured a 11"-12" round stock would be no problem.
They should put 6" max stock in there somewhere.
Again thanks guys
just curious what the largest stock some of you guys are turning, according to tormach no more than 6" diameter stock but they advertise the heck out of the 15" swing. pretty disappointed if this is...
yes sir, already on order. thank you
I had the main fuse/breaker pop once and I had the same symptoms. put in new ones and everything worked just fine after that. maybe u pinched the main power cord? if all u did was move it nothing...
That's awesome man! I'll pm you for info
I don't doubt that at all, but its stuff u can upgrade as you go along and you would end up with a machine with allot more hp and room to grow and capacity for larger parts.
unless you are doing...
TL-1 is $24,000

they run on either single phase or 3 phase.
a new tool room haas lathe is in the mid $20k, you can always upgrade to the bells and whistles as you go along.
I do own a Tormach PCNC1100 series 3 for many years now, I love it for what I do, but eventually will need a larger work envelope and more rpm and more hp.
Carlos
if you buy one id love to come see it, been looking at them for a minute now. just not sure about it.

where did you purchase those tool holders? that would at the minimum eliminate my pull out issue. thank you
I have checked them but ill check again
i'm using TTS
yes sir, all this has been addressed. I never have pull out issues UNLESS the tool chatters, its pretty much guaranteed to come out if the tool chatters. I only have tool chatter issues when I try to...
its not a pocket, its an exterior profile. and yes there are corner radii but they are large enough for the cutter to sweep thru instead of making a large contact area and trying to dig into the...
tormachs use a pneumatic draw bar with bevel washers, not a impact ratchet style drawbar.
what u mentioned i've seen on Bridgeport knee mills
