Looks great, Spencer.
Congrats on a great build.

They have several starter sets that may help. They are good quality solid carbide tools at a good price. You will want solid carbide for most CNC work.

Hi CarveOne I haven't been on the Zone in a while.

Hi CarveOne,
Check this site and see if they have a cartridge filter conversion for your dust collector. I bought one here for my Harbor Freight model and am very happy with the improvement in...
Either one will work.
I would choose the 5 start, 2tpi now because I have the others now and think the 5 start would take better advantage of the torque available at lower stepper speeds. My motors...
Wood screws will not hold very well in mdf. Use 1/4" nuts and bolts, or t-nuts where you can. Glue the parts that you don't need to disassemble for maintenance.

2. Use a 1/2" bit to cut the hole profile with CAM, and 1/2" bearing guided roundover for...
Step motors have higher torque at lower speeds. As speed goes up, torque goes down. Most will not operate at much over 1000rpm if they can even reach that. I doubt you can reach the 1200 with no...
Keep the pictures coming, this is fun!
Hope you don't mind all of us enjoying nearly as much as you.
Glad it helped, and your welcome.
Once you get the gantry worked out, surface the table with the machine. That should eliminate your cup.
Alvarado1357,
I watched your video and saw your neck attachment. I guess what you are asking is can you cut a nice tight fit like that. No problem.
I use a tight fit pocket to create holding...
How about posting pictures of cooling systems. This should help everyone.
Sorry Jack,
I disagree on the plastic. You want an O-flute which is a single flute for plastic. This increases chip load which helps with cooling and reduces the chance of melting all the swarf back...
