Been a while since I've Done anything to the Mill but I just got delivery confirmation of my y axis ballscrew. I ordered the extended version from linearmotion2008. Looks like I will be starting on...
Did cja masterworks go out of Business? Can't seem to open his webpage.
no plans of a sale this year?
If it were me I would remove the control box and investigate that, could be a bit of bondo they placed there that cracked or it could be the actual casting...either way I would give it a closer look.
When will the annual Gecko sale be this year? I need another G201X!

Hoss,
If I remember correctly, a while back you mentioned a 30 taper spindle and pull stud type drawbar... if im wrong then what are your thoughts on a mod like this...I did contact a spindle...

just to throw it out there, Im using regular 16 gauge speaker wire for my stepper motors and most of the electrical connections...I have had zero problems out of it and its dirt cheap...This was...
Sorry for deviating from your current topic but I noticed what appears to be a lathe chuck mounted on and R8 arbor in the background of one of the pics, where might I obtain one of those?
Thanks

So from this, I gather you must place the sub at the end of the program? not so conveinient for multiple programs running the same sub... is this common with other cnc controllers or am i...
Very clever! I have zero experince with macro's so that will be a new adventure for me...
I also need to learn how to use sub-programs with mach3.
I know how they work on a fanuc controller,...
I have to say, that is my favorite ATC so far... compact, looks easy to build and plenty of speed...
you mention that its made to use up to 12 tools, im guessing you would just make the carousel...
Do you mind showing a closeup of how that tap is ground?
Not sure if I missed it but which way did you end up going on you drawbar or is it still in progress? I was considering having my spindle reground to 30 taper as well just need to see how "involved"...
sorry posted in the wrong thread...

most of the "low end" commercially prepared Knee mills do drive the quill...its a very simple setup for one piece type job shops...some also CNC the Knee but this is slightly less common...if they...

Ah the "coming climate change" thread? I starting reading that one once but...yea... not a bad idea for a thread though...keep em busy in that little world :D
but maybe this thread is the largest...
that might be a cnczone record?
cant wait to see that 5th axis with a nema 34...I bet it will be a beast.
Starleper1 is right, the majority of the threads you see here are home built machines, that being said...
I bet there are a few people that would be willing to build you a CNC machine on here....but...
I second that, I love my G0704, no complaints at all...
such a tease
Do your thang man ^^
some of us appreciate those that work R&D...
This option has been considered already, review my link to see the thread about my lathe project. I posted here in the casting section mainly to get info about a casting as another option.
Sounds good to me, just wanted another opinion, im still a ways off from making the spacer but its best in the long run to snatch the good deals when you can even if it wont be used right away. I...
I was thinking of the extra head weight, or would that be a non issue? I think I will be running more or less the same setup as my X/Y currently use. G201X, 570oz Keling, 48V 7.3A PS(dedicated to the...
Hoss,
Do you think it would work out to use CR Steel for the head spacer? I got a good deal on some that was the right size per your print...
