Ahh. Well 3 phase will provide the best performance, especially on the spindle. But fortunately for you the Torrent series will run just fine on single phase ;) Just remember that you won't get a...
Mach4 Industrial has proven to be very reliable and has the performance to do everything we need and then some. It also allows us to be very flexible with the machines and our interface, giving us...
There were certainly some issues at the start. Always are, nature of product development, especially with software as complex as mach.
Yea, using well developed products helps. I do have an old...
Mach4 has been great! We've been very happy. Brian and his team have been great and super helpful. I think a large part of our success with it is not just Mach4, but also with the hardware from Mach...
Thank you for the kind words!
The hobby market is tough for machines. Low margins to hit the price points means there is little money to pay for support, regardless of skills. There are very few...
I would like the opportunity to expand on this, as we believe we are a little more than a re-badge. Syil does build the current machines and they are based on the same iron. However, the machines are...
The way you have it set up #500 stores the last number engraved. That can be reset or set to anything at any time by you. and nothing binds you to that one variable. For two different parts you could...
I think you found a bug. Looks like starting with a single digit with a value of 1 causes it to drop out before you start. If you plan on going into multiple digits you could add a C with the number...
Love tight deadlines! Sorry we can't help you with your parts now, hopefully in the future!
Yes, our box will be available soon. We want to make sure it is as reliable and easy to install as possible. The screen has a couple bugs in the probing and tool/work offset tabs. And like I said,...
As an update, we've been running the Op's machine for a while now, nailing down some instabilities. The tool changer was causing some problems. Hoping to have that locked up very soon.
The XML is in the mach3 root folder. The name can change depending on the version of the Tormach software you are running. You can sort that folder by file type and it should show up near the bottom.
Price Reduced!
The SmartBOB is very cool, and very simple to set up.
The ESS, yes each IDC connector is basically a parallel port. So you are exactly right.
The pokeys, seems confusing at first. The 56U/57E...
Yes, your programs from Mach3 will run in Mach4. A lot of work has gone into making Mach4 far more compatible with industry standards, and keeping compatibility with 3.
Yes, what you say is true, I am not disputing that. What I am saying is that, in this case, simply buying an ess, smartbob, or pokeys and trying to use his config will not work. The reason: To...
That would be a question for shuttle pro. Some of the motion controls that are up and running with Mach4 support MPG's on control panels and pendants. The op is currently using this pendant on his...
Except that the op is not using a smoothstepper...I know that's what he said, but I can assure you that is not what is in the box ;) That and the config won't necessarily work on other systems. And...
Well said Ron. Motion control plugins for Mach4 are certainly starting to become much more available.
As for Duracoat's system, an announcement will be made soon. If anybody wants details before...
Pratt Drill Mate - Mach4 DSPMC Retrofit
Pratt Drill Mate, similar to old style Robodrill. Machine is tight and solid for an old girl. It was originally retrofitted in 2010 with Mach3. It got...
Having a problem trying to get CAMWorks to cut a dovetail. I originally created an open profile feature, and a contour to take multiple passes at full doc. Now I've got a new, much better tool and...
I have an old SMW System 50 and RT-3J Indexer set up. We just got this set up and running after it's been sitting for the last decade or more. Everything works just fine, my issue is going to be...
We have a Wilton 4735 A centerless grinder, really a belt sander with a centerless drive wheel attachment. Our drive wheel is pretty worn and could use replacing. Problem is, the part number is...
I am trying to run a program with a 2in radius leadin on one of our robo drills with 16i-M control and am having an issue. The arc is on a plane that is tilted 45 degrees from the xy plane, so the 2...
Also been a while since I've really dug into ArtCAM, and am a little rusty. However, this does not sound like a post issue. Sounds more like the toolpath is set so that ArtCAM is trying to raster...
After working out a trade, I've got two new Viper 200's in the machine. Mounted them up, plugged them in, did a quick tune starting with known good values from my other drive, and they're now...
I tried upping the Range setting on the Y axis, up to 200. That is the r value right?
Still acts the same.
TOM
I'd be interested in that. I'm sending you an email now.
The X axis drives runs the Y axis perfectly fine, with the Y axis drive connected to the X axis I get the same issue. I've been concentrating on the Y first. It is holding in both directions, I can...
