Thanks Ben.
That was the problem, packing chips. My taps never snapped off, just chipped out the teeth. I'll give those a try.

I asked the wrong question in the OP.
What I'm looking for is a way to offset the work offset (30 times) from the original G54. The next parts have 30 rows of 32 holes not evenly spaced.

That's how I'm doing it now, but when a tool gets dull (304 rolled plate) I would hate to start all over at the start. I have a number of these to do.
I would like to get some subs together...
I have 30 rows of 16 holes per row and am having difficulty using M97 and incremental within the sub.

I am just hoping to find something a button-pusher could do. I do miss macro programming.
I have 25+ different lengths of tooling that need a groove cut in them .33 wide by .14 deep.
I would like to be able to just enter the OAL as a parameter and go. Something an operator can do...
I'm on a 97 VF-3 and have a bunch of open ended slots to do of varied lengths.
We do not have macro (I should be so lucky). My CNC programming software is SURFCAM but I don't want to re-program for...
Thanks Moldcore.
That was exactly what I needed to do. Good job to understanding my poor description.

I have a IGES file I imported and can't find the way to save it to a different view. No matter how I spin it and change views, it always is saved as the same view as a dxf. Is there someting I'm...
I believe the problem was the calculations were using the truncated (1/25.4) as .0394 in four places making the 1727.2 mm length come out long by 1.3mm out of tol. on my +/- .1mm. Adding one more...

When I scale a model to inch from metric SurfCam seem to round it off to 4 places and I can't find where to fix it.

New here, looks like a good forum. I'm in St Paul MN and most of my programming is for a Siemens 840C on a large gantry mill. A good deal of TNC155 time as well on a big horizontal mill. Surfcam is...
