I found this transformer.Price seems decent, should be ok for a DIY'er.They also have some 118oz steppers for $15.00 ea.(with a spec sheet and wiring diagram) ...
I guess I was lucky,I had a friend who was machinist help set up my 9X20,and the 7X10,as well as my mill-drill.The usuall stuff you read about,no really bad problems.
I generally build stirling...
From what I have read,"full step" seems to be "hi-tork" mode, with a slight reduction in torque when microstepping.
[QUOTE=Jason Ross]I'm surprised that brushless outrunner motors run cooler. It would make sense for a brushed motor because now the cooper would be on the outside. Magnets typically make a poor...
Does anybody make "external rotor" stepper motors? I ask because brushless motors, and stepper motors are similar in design. I have been flying electric planes for a few years now,and the use of...
COOL!You have it half whipped. If you label the wires paired per coil
a1-a2,b1-b2 the proper connection to the board should be similar to: a1,b1,a2,b2. if the motor runs the wrong direction,switch...
There are several good tutorials on the web about testing motors to determine the coils/phasing. Stepperworld.com has a pretty good one.On the xylotex board, you MUST follow proper setup procedure,or...
I had seen this ad,but it says it is 4 conductor.Do you have 6 conductor?
Craig
Thanks,I will get some!
Craig
Thanks alot! I had found some 4 conductor on ebay. I was not sure about the wire size, and I probably always use too big of wire. Right now they are wired with 14 guage trailer ribbon! It is working...
I have been having a tough time finding cable for my stepper motors. All the local places here have only 24 guage.Anyone have a good place to buy six conductor shielded cable in either 16, or 18 AWG?...
I used delrin to build the leadscrew nuts on my small engraver.I used the slot method, and have not had to adjust them in 3 years of hobby use. I made a tap from a piece of the acme screw material,and...
