Re: VFD P24 to G540 using a Relay

Here is a link to my schematic on wiring the VFD. Note I am using a WJ200 and not the L200 model so some of the parameters and wire labels may be different.

    Re: Double sided parts

Not sure of the size of the part or where you are seeing the mismatch but any errors in your machine will be doubled when you flip the part.

So if it is .010 out of square in a given length, it...

Is that a water cooled spindle without water running to it? Noticed fittings on top but no hoses.

Purchased a vise for finishing out back sides easier. Just a cheaper Shars.
So far seems to work well for what I need to do. Just need to make some proper clamps and a keying setup so i can add...

    Re: Steve's 2x2 CNC Router

In the 30 years of using the misters in my own shop and at a job shop we never had a fog problem. We always ran them fairly low air or low on the coolant so as to not flood the air or machine.
    When...

    Re: Steve's 2x2 CNC Router

With a router need really shallow cuts. I ran a router on my machine for awhile and cutting aluminum was tough. The bearings are not all that great in most routers.

Could be a bad collet or bad spindle.
Are you using a router or spindle?

  15. Re: Anyone heard of "Three-Ring Precision Machinery"? (Profile Rails)

I really have no idea what version I received. The paperwork and part numbers never made much sense. Guessing just general.

And yes these would be better than any round rail system.
  16. Re: Anyone heard of "Three-Ring Precision Machinery"? (Profile Rails)

Rail was mounted rigid on Dillion Force gage. Defelction was all in the car.

Ground finish was not near the quality of the THK. Much rougher finish.

If cost was no object THK would be my...

  18. Re: Anyone heard of "Three-Ring Precision Machinery"? (Profile Rails)

Did a some testing today on the new rails and cars.
I suspected the rails may not have been heat treated to the same specs as a THK rail.
Rails had lots of nicks and dings from the improper...

    Re: What's causing this?

You have a lot of connections that need to be tight to keep backlash at bay.
Belts, rack and pinion and your linear rails. Looks like all of them are controlled by pulling tight at setup and...

    Re: What's causing this?

If you post some pics of the drive system we might be able to help.
If you are seeing some movement from one side and not the other, that will create some bad geometry.

    Re: What's causing this?

Looks like there is some backlash somewhere. Appears to be a lot.
Backlash can repeat the results on same program.
What type drive system do you have?
Ball screws? Rack and pinion? Other?

If steppers are stalling or couplings slipping.
Running same code back to back will show that your zero has moved.
If the second pass retraces its steps exactly then some thing else is going on....
  28. Re: Anyone heard of "Three-Ring Precision Machinery"? (Profile Rails)

I decided to get a set of these and see what they look like. At almost 1/3 the cost it was hard to pass up. Will report back once I have them in hand and check them out.

Wow those are good prices. Not sure of the quality but I have a laser cutter in design and may need to try these out. May be perfect for that.
