I use a Huot for my Endmills... works great! It's all metal so will last forever. For taps and drills I use a few plastic storage boxes from Home Depot.

I'm now curious about LinuxCNC. I believe Linux is a better OS platform over Windows OS but know nothing about Linux and little on the configuration side of Mach or LinuxCNC. Before I dive into...
I had to do it because my Probe (not Tormach) took a negative signal instead of positive. That's all I changed. But you can tune the motors and more... it's a full version of Mach3 with all...
Thanks Steve!! I might have to hit the pavement then. Been doing this for fun for too long... time to make my hobby into a business. :-)

Hey guys... I'm in Irvine... actually live in Irvine and machine in my office in Stanton. Machining started as a hobby and pretty much still is for me... but have been thinking I like to take on a...
Thanks Twocik... looks like I have to mod my codes and get it a try again.

No... I'm positive I'm not reaching the limits of the floats. When it starts the reverse, the spindle does catch up fairly quickly... but once every 5th hole or so... the clutch on the TC head slips...
Scott, No... I have not hand coded G84 before... actually... this is the first time I'm machine tapping. Before this, I hand tapped all my holes but this job requires hundreds of taps so I decided...
Thanks Christian, I'll have to look into that after thanksgiving. Was wondering if I should take it apart since the upward stroke did not feel smooth at all and had some binding. Good to know I'm...
The kink is what I'm suspecting is the problem. It taps down fine but every 10 or so taps, when the tap is spinning out is when I'm snapping taps. The TC head will also sometimes get stuck on where...
I purchased a Tormach T/C Tapping head a few weeks ago to tap a bunch of 6-32 holes but I'm breaking taps every 10th hole or so. I tried Sowa spiral point and spiral flute and both are breaking on...
Thanks! I was happily surprised with the results as well. Before I started, I was afraid cutting Stainless may be a challenge with this setup. As for tooling... since my plan from the very...
Got it! thank you!! I've got a project this weekend! :-)

1. That's a question for Tormach. Give them a call.
2. The machine does not keep track of hours... but Mach3 keeps track of Machine Power On time and spindle on time.
3. I've got over 500hrs...
Do you mean Section 9-7? There is no page 9-7... 9 ends with 9-58. I don't see anything in Section 9-7 (Mechanical maintenance) referring to a Dial Indicator. It talks about X,Y,Z preload bearings...
I turned a few things on my Tormach with one lathe tool in the vice and a R8 chuck in the spindle. It works great. I hand coded the G-Codes though. Attached is a piece I turned on the Tormach...
Dial indicator procedure? Please explain more. Thanks!

Hate to say it but the brake would be a major problem for me. My computer has crashed before and my deluxe stand leaks and have shorted out the 120V and popped the circuit more than a few times when...
Very cool! Glad to see more RC guys here! :-) I've been flying RC for 25yrs and recently starting flying FPV as well. I've got Trex 250, 450s (4), 550, JR Vigor and a few HK birds as well. Been...
For me... once I power off and on, it will maintain the same coordinates but always double confirm by setting it at X0 Y0 Z1 just to make sure after reboot, it is the same. However, after reboot, I...
I have a Wildhorse Digitizing Touch Probe with ruby tip and TTS attached that is wired for the Tormach on eBay. Below is the link for those interested.

One of my client is LE and they are very interested in a Quad for Surveillance. Problem is... with any kind of Surveillance, including SAR, Fire Fighting and etc, they are still NOT approved to use...
60 miles!! Wow. The XBee is said to have a few miles of range... but I only tested it to the range of my radio which is a little more than 1/2 mile.
Look into the Quad MikroKopter... I have the...
The modem is a Xbee 2.4Ghz USB data modem (thought I put in the 900mhz). XBee Pro 60mW Wire Antenna - Series 1 - SparkFun Electronics . It works very well and distance, especially land to air) has...
Sorry Gerry... just cleaned out my PM and sent you a PM.
Nice!! I guess I'll have to buy a few taps to experiment and see which works best for me. Already bought a few spiral points from a member here and will look into form taps.
Thanks!!

Here's my Aerial rig... Flies surprisingly well. Have a few aerial videos but it's for a client so I can't post it.
It's got GPS for waypoint flying and can fix itself via GPS. Have a 900mhz...
Decided to re-pipe my coolant for a dual nozzle setup. With the copper piping... looks like my Tormach can make some cappuccino too! :-) Got my idea from a few others on this forum. I also...

Sorry... Material is Aluminum through-hole and blinds for the batch I'm about to make. I am hoping for somewhat of a universal tap set (if it exist) so I can use it for metal, aluminum and ABS and...
