two questions..what is the purpose of the springs on the x axis??? and what do the harmonic drives do? are they like gear boxes or something?

hurco will do some automatic programing. you put in the dxf file, tell it start and end points and it will cut. i dont know if its the same as what you guys are talking about, but it does it.
