Well it turns out that it really won't level! For what ever reason the weldment base is racked. If it came that way from Fadal or is a result of sitting cock-eyed for 15 years is unknown but at...
I can make the foot touch the floor but if it does it throws off the level in both x and y. The base is a weldment and clearly it is racked. It could have been like this for 20 years. Previous...
That isn't entirely true. It will level but when it is, the right front foot is off the ground. tried everything i can think of but no joy. Thinking about clamping the rt front foot to the floor...
Looking for a good collet closer for a Conquest T42 big bore

Anyone know the proper prociedure for replacing the x axis screw bearings in a conquest 42? A repair person accidentaly loosened the cap on the lower bearing housing that locates the outer race...
Turned out to be a cracked ribbon cable on the control panel. I'd ask what next but I really don't want to spoil the surprise. Thanks for your input.

I just finished a pm on a conquest 42 this morning. Replaced x axis thrust bearings, had the screw reground, and had the way covers refurbished. Started it up and it homed with no issues and it...
Anyone know a reptuable repair person in socal that can work on older Conquest 42s?

I am looking for a fanuc encoder A860-0356-T101 and an I/O mod. AOD08C A03B-0807-C151. If anyone has either of these 2 items available please contact me.

Apologies for the tardy reply. I was out for a couple of days and by the time I returned an operator had butchered the program so badly the alarm problem became moot. It seems that leaving the...
My control keeps getting stuck at the following line:
G0 X.3096 Z1. (RAPID TO 1 INCH FROM FACE)
When it stops here I get a "003 TOO MANY DIGITS" alarm. According to the alarm code list this...
Spot on. <EOB> <insert> the move <eob> <insert>. I needed an EOB on the auto generated O0000 program # or it inserted on the program line, and an EOB on the line of code.
Thanks for the help....
I'm teaching my self to operate a Hardinge conquest 42 with an 18-T control.
According to the Manual to MDI a line of code I push <MDI> then <PROGRAM>, then <RESET>. At this point I type the line...
Jim,
I will try searching the Fanuc form again. It might just be a terminology issue but I didn't find anything there last night. I only tried this form because there is always lots of people in...
I'm teaching my self to operate a Hardinge conquest 42 with an 18-T control. As per usual, 90% of the manual is correct and 5% is complete.
Accorfing to the book to MDI a line of code I push...
Sorry I have no clue where all the little smiley faces came from. I must have had one of the buttons pushed.

Unless your machine has a true PC front end, I can't imagine how you could. A normal CNC control would not be able to support the bar cod scanner's driver first off then you would need to load the...
Were you thinking of bar code MDI directly into the control or into some other utility like Excel or Word?
Mike,
I have done a bit of programing in Excel and I love it. It isn't a replacement for parametric programing but for many applications it is simply awesome. The last project involved an...
I am a newbie at parametric programing. Had 0 luck finding a contract programmer that could work in Fanuc Custom Macro B so I have resorted to taking an on line class. Just thought I would throw...
Roughly what size and quantity per year are you looking for?
We are looking for a Haas 5C brush servo indexer, head only. We have a control (and are quite curious where the indexer went). If anyone has an indexer head they would like to part with please drop...
Got it. It was the spindle reverse relay hanging up. Always something! Thanks for all the help.
BJ
The spindle on my vmc is turning around 30 rpm and won't stop. I thought it might be a feedback adjustment but nothing in my documentation refers to the spindle gain adjustment. I tried adjusting...
Figured it out. The manual shows the D word at the tool call out but it actually goes in the move after.
Thanks anyway.
I have an older Omniturn OT on a Hardinge HSL speed lathe. I am trying to learn how to use the secondary offsets and I’m not having much luck. For a test I set up a simple 2 tool program and tested...
Mike,
Thanks for the info. Complicated project, I can relate. We are thinking of using mach 3 to develop a 6+ axis machine. Essentially a small lathe with c & y axis plus 1 odd extra. it will...
Anyone out there ever run Mach 3 closed loop? I understand Galil has a 4 axis motion board that will interface for closed loop instalations.
Thanks
