Andy, I've never used BOBcad and dont know what file types you can import, just out of interest, why are you exporting out an STL for machining? I have found the best format out of Inventor is...
Yep, when you click "save copy as" in inventor, before you save the file, click options and you can choose stl export settings. Change the export unit to cm instead of mm. Let us know how you go......
Hi,
Just curious as why you are using stainless steel for the thermal block? I plan to build my own printer one day too. Why not use aluminium? If you are worried about corrosion, could you...
Hi Mate, Where in Aus do you live?
Hi Phil, Pretty sure there is a setting in Mach3 called "stop on tool change" or similar that you will need to enable. Then you will be able to run a full program and it will pause and let you...
yep, that's the idea, let us know how it goes.

I didnt mean to hijack the dolphin thread, sheetcam is a very basic program. I've been down the route of trying to drip feed the Dyna controller before and wasnt happy with the results. Regardless,...
Here is my experience...
I got a 2400 a few years ago and dicked around with the original controller for a while with drip feeding etc. Mastercam does a Dyna post as well from memory. I was...
And cut results....heaps better. Hard to photograph though.
Hey All...
Found the problem... I added an extra zero to the global tolerance settings AND THEN re-processed the finishing path and all the faceting has gone.
My mistake was that I didnt...
Attached is the solid file I'm using to generate the toolpaths. (Parasolid exported out of Inventor).
Struggled to take a clear picture, but you can see some of the faceting artifact near the light reflection. Im doing a contour rough followed by a finish contouring path in the surfaces tab, not a...
Yep, im following you now. Species mentioned chord height settings which I recall reading about in the manual somewhere. Ill post up a pic of the cut part shortly. Thanks for the help.
Scott
Thanks Guys, but the faceting is actually coming out on the part when I machine it, identical to the facets showing in the cut part renderer....
Hi Guys,
Leaning Gibbscam and I've run into a problem I cant solve using the manual...

Yep, Im looking at a $20k + difference between the US pricing and the Haas dealer here in Sydney. The difference is due to converting the machine to "australian" specs, the pricing the dealer gets...

Hi Geof,
Yeah, I've considered shipping, and Haas crating. We dont pay import duty for equipment made in the US, but we have customs clearances etc. Delivery and forking may also be included in...
ok,
I got pricing on both the super mini mill and the super mini mill 2...
Could you quote a super mini mill 2
Options:
High speed machining
Extra memory
Ethernet
high flow coolant pump
Hey Lowell,
Cheers for that, my quote for a supermini mill with highspeed machining and a few other options is significantly higher. I'm keen to find out where the difference is being eaten up..
Thanks Lowell,
Yeah, I remember being able to ballpark price up a machine on the website, but now every machine has a "contact dealer" link for the price. Possibly because im outside of the US. ...
Hi guys,
Would anyone know what new a super mini mill is going for these days? Roughly?
a grade of polycarbonate might be an option, from memory, PC has both a lower and higher operating service than 66..becareful about colouring pc though, loose a bit of its impact strength when adding...

Seem to recall the last Starret dial indicator I bought had "made in china" stamped on the back.
Fit and finish is the big difference I find between the mitutoyos etc and the cheap chinese copies....
Hi Guys...i too am desperately seaching for quick change holders for the 2400 (no drawbar). The hightech systems er16 holders would have been perfect, but Dereck the owner is no longer making them. ...
i solved my problem with the backlash compensation today. I read a post of someone with a similar problem and the suggestion was to change the shuttle acceleration found in config: general config to...
Hi, I have exactly the same problem using mach3 mill. Everything was running fine until i upgraded to mach 3 2.0 this morning. Now there is a huge dwell when changing direction. When you untick...
