Where did you purchase the grease fittings?
I have a similar spoilboard setup on my Pro 4824. I wouldn't use screws as they pull loose undered repeated heavy clamping. I used bolts on mine and the mdf sb has a rabbit that overlaps the t track.
I had width problems on a slot cut and found my 0.25" end mill measured 0.2485".
Have you run Axis Calibration "Set Steps per Unit" to insure your machine is traveling the distance G code is sending?
I have a 3 year old Pro 4824 which I upgrade from Mach 3 to Mach 4 about 3 months ago. No problems at all.
Are you using the "Avid CNC shortcut" on your desktop?
I recently ran Axis Calibration "Set Steps per Unit" on my Pro4824 after making some changes on the machine. I use a 48" steel ruler and calibrate to 46" on the X axis and 22" on the Y axis. You need...
I had the exact same situation as David, so I've only used Linear Rails. With linear rails, the machines are very ridged and accurate. I did leave the v-con Z axis on mine.
I started using Fusion 360 however it's to complicated for the work I do. Aspire & VCarve Pro suit my needs. In the year I used Fusion, I never found a way to convert Fusion file to VCarve and there...
You must have worked your daughters hard the last couple of days! lol Glad to see you made great progress. You'll be up and running soon.
You and your daughters are making great progress. It sound like your keeping all the assembles lever and square which will make your progress go smoothly especially at startup. Look forward to seeing...
I've owned a Pro4824 for 2 1/2 years with a 2.2kW water cooled spindle. My only regret to this point is not buying the Pro4848 and I will likely buy the parts to upgrade at some point. 98% of my work...
My brother loves Art Deco inspired home furnishings, so I made this clock as a Christmas present for him. The clock body was machined from Peruvian Walnut and is two 3/4" thick pieces glued together....
Good to hear you up and running again! I agree, CNCRP has excellent customer service.
I have a Hitachi WJ200 VFD on a Pro 4824 that works great. Here is a link to my build log with the settings. https://www.cnczone.com/forums/cnc-router-parts/319628-pro-4824-build-amp-upgrade-4.html
Nice work and great shop. Thanks for posting the link for the Snapnstrut. I've been looking for a mount like that to attach my hose to the Z axis. Also like the mag strips attached to the extrusion....
Gary, I just looked at my file, cut slot at .21". I went to the basement and measured a piece of brush strip leftover, .22 to .24". It took significant force to push into slot and it stayed in place...
When I received the extrusions from 80-20 for my Pro4824, I spent time checking each piece with a machinist square and feeler gages. Each part was cut very accurately as to length and squareness. I...
You need a smooth transition between the rails for the small ball bearing in the bearing blocks. I would check the rail ends with a good square and mate the best ends together.
HJ,
Here are some pics & info that might help. There are 5 switches, all identical, pics below. Also a drawing showing locations and designation of each switch and drawing of bottom of control box...
Gary, sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you recovery quickly and get back to the build!
My build also got spread out over several months due to family health problems. Good Luck!!
Did you look in Mach3 ,config/ports & pins, to make sure the relays are enabled? You will also need a post processor with code for dust collection to turn the dc on when routing.
Here is a link to...
My Pro4824 has Nema 23 and is strictly a hobby machine although I do occasionally cut pieces for sale. I have no problems cutting 150 to 300 ipm depending on the material. I cut mdf, hdpe, pine,...
Since I have 9.5 on my laptop and cnc computer, I decided to play a little last night. I removed 9.507 and then reinstalled it. I then applied the patch for 9.508. This time it installed properly and...
I noticed this morning when I started VCarve 9.5 there was a notice in the top right corner there is an update available 9.508. I clicked on the message and downloaded the update. The first time it...
I understand how excited your are. I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas after my order. On mine the 80-20 portion of the order arrived in 2 weeks and 3 weeks for the rest.
Gerry is correct, you will see a slight reduction in suction volume by adding a vortex separator. However IMHO the gain in efficiency, by reducing clogging of the dc bag or filter, offsets the slight...
Yes, it comes in 2 versions 5 & 6 inch. They have adapters for both to reduce to 4".

I have a 2.2kW spindle, 2 hp dust collector with Super Dust Deputy and micron air filter, never have any problems with dust.
Since I started assembling my cnc about 2 years ago, I had intended to use dual computer monitors. Recently, while digging thru some packing crates, I found a spare monitor. I immediately ordered...
Sorry, as I do occasionally, I misread your post.
