I could use a little help! I am still learning how to edit post processor files. Does anyone know how to make the z axis do a touch off at the beginning on a scribe operation so the z will zero out?...
I just made my own gear reduction about 3:1 and works really good. I got my parts from mcmaster carr. I think maybe even 4:1 is better for the z axis. The gear reduction also holds the z axis in...

I had just about the same setup. I had a G540 controller and a Hypertherm 380 pretty much the same as the Miller 375. I bought the MP3000E DTHC II from CandCNC and added the DCP-01 and RAV-01 to my...
Thats cool you figured it out. When I looked at the lines on the side of your cut it look like it was going CCW. Good to hear it wasn't somthing major wrong.
Forgot to ask what direction are you cutting in?
What machine, cut speed, amps, are you using? are you using THC? what is the height of the water? maybe try lowering it and check your tip and electrode.
When I cut some arcs in text some of the arcs have pausing issues and some run smoothly around. At first I thought I was losing steps but it is not that because it is not losing it position. Not sure...
CandCNC recommends you set the PWM box to 20:1 ratio and remove the cover on your new PM85 and set it to 20:1. It comes set at 50:1. That's what I did and it works perfect.
Thanks Jim!
I just tried out my new PM85 yesterday and I think I have some noise interferences. Some time just as the torch fires my X home limit switch is tripped. Also have a question about the manual only...

I Just purchased a Hypertherm Powermax 85 (Just thought you like to know ) and I am using CandCNC DTHC II. I will have to ask Tom if there is a option like that on his systems.
What is the extra wire I see going to the torch head and it is banded to it? I have see it on a few videos. Even Hypertherm has it on there Powermax brochure.

From looking at how far your Z and torch mounts out away from your gantry I would say that is where all your problems are. When you mount something that far out it has a lot of leverage on...
Here is another video showing the new CandCNC DTHC feature.

I could use a little advice on THC. I am new at this and was woundering on your products and how to set them up. I am in the process of purchasing a Hypertherm 85 with the machine torch....

So you are saying if the DP is .75 and the number would be 2.3562 round it to 2? So a 2:1 ratio would be good. did I figure that right?
Here are a couple more pics with the water pan done.
Thanks for the reply Tom!
That is some great info! As for the wheels I am in the process of making some leveling jacks so when i put the table in place i could raise it a little and also level it....
