why not do like most & use a table saw lathe? it cuts with the saw blde & uses a follower klike a key machine. greg
what type of material are you wanting to cut. if it is not metal you may be able to use a duplicating router. they also make a similar tracing mill for metal. i hope this info may help.

i am using 1/2x10 5 start that is 53 1/2 long on my y axis. i can run it at over 400ipm. the screw is under tension from both ends. no wipping at all. hope this helps. greg
