Thanks guys, I finally got my carbide drill in and will be testing the program today and will post the results.

So we ran the parts yesterday and the drill broke last night after about 130 parts....

We turn bearings 24/7 on Mori Seiki lathes. Mostly 52100 steel.

Are tool life management options or program modifications really worth the effort or can a well-trained operator effectively manage a machine without them?
