    Re: Conversion to Imperial...

Drawings have units attached to them, so when importing a drawing that is in Metric and you want to program in inches, you will need to scale the metric drawing to inches. You will do this by scaling...
  2. Re: CNC is not running Dynamic Optirough properly

I do not think incremental/absolute arcs would make a difference. I think you would need to go into the Control Def > arcs > check 360 degree arcs > check break arcs 180 or at quadrant, what ever...

    Re: Reducing Lines/Curves/Splines

How did you create the geometry? Did you use a raster to vector conversion c-hook to create your cut lines?

There are many different ways to do this but this is finishing within the pocket tool path. Be sure to check out all the options that are available

  5. Re: Solid Works Solids importing with gaps and over hang

As solarpower said file>merge>options brings up the solid works import options. We use Solid Works on a daily basis with very few if any issues. If issues come up we try .stp files.

    Re: mastercam x5-x9 microlift issues

    Renesky,

Yes you can do a micro lift in most paths it just takes a little more doing. I used an example of a 2" pocket (standard) using a .5" end mill. Pay close attention to the attached pics...

  11. Re: STOCK UPDATE FOR THE SECOND OPERATION IN MILLING

    Cadcam,

    Re: Lathe Toolpath Left Tool

Look at your plunge cut parameters. There is a spot in both the rough and finish tool paths to adjust this. I believe no plunge is the default.

  13. Re: STOCK UPDATE FOR THE SECOND OPERATION IN MILLING

    Cadcam,

Sorry I have been out of the shop. I will try to get something posted in the next few days that will show the issue that I am having with the stock model and the custom profile tools.
  14. Re: STOCK UPDATE FOR THE SECOND OPERATION IN MILLING

Cadcam, Now take that toolpath that you created and copy it to the bottom. Make the toolpath on top part of the stock model. You should get the error that I posted earlier if you created your tool...

  17. Re: STOCK UPDATE FOR THE SECOND OPERATION IN MILLING

Actually there are a couple of ways of doing this. You can use a stock model, but stock models still do not support custom tools.

You can however run your simulation in OP 1 > file > save stock >...
