PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
After all it appeared to be a faulty power unit (the 2nd one in 5 years!!!)
We had it repaired in a local electronic repair shop (euro 100!!!) and all works fine again!

Spend a few moments to repeat what the (hired) technician did last friday.
found out that an unmouted power unit from the PCB produced all the necessary voltages and no alarm LED on the input...

We found out that the most probable cause is a defective Input Unit (FANUC A14B-0076-B001).
A technician finally by-passed this unit (Do'nt try this at home!!!(he said))...
Hi all out there,
in our workshop we use since 1987 a Takisawa TC2 lathe.
Yesterday a strange thing occured.
After swichting the mainswitch on we did press the ON button and nothing happened...
I have some photo's available.
I will try to attach them to this message.
One picture shows the disassembled motor 2 pictures the original (faulty!!) encoder.

In the end it was a faulty encoder.
We did replace the original (american built) decoder by a danish equivalent (sold to us by the dutch Haas representation)...
