Hi all,
I need to drill ss304 and ss316 hole diameters are from 5/2 and up to 14 mm and I have to make thousands of holes.
the machine is vertical cnc mill with no through the tool cooling.
...
I recommend the new iscar's new SOF45 mills.
I am using a 80 mm mill on cast iron and stainless steel (1400 mm/min feed on cast iron 3 mm depth and 800 mm/min feed on ss316 castings 2 mm depth).
...
there are too many parameters to be able to calculate the force.
it depends not only on machining conditions but also on the tool tip, how sharp the tool and even how rigidt the nachine is.
you must call haas service and by the serial number of the machine the will tell you what is thr right pull stud.
be careful begause wrong one gan cause a lot of damage.

you can machine one. it would be cheaper than to buy and fit.
it is obvius that feeds and RPM are rigidly connected when speaking of taps.
when i made 3/4 BSP rigid tapping i had to go down to 40 RPM.
I didn't break the tap but got Z AXIS SERVO ALARM...
for rigid tapping you must work with very low feeds.

i spend between 50 to 70 hours a week at work
if you are using a cnc machine you can mill the thread instead of using a tap.
you have them both.
on the left side you have the "distance to go" which is te relative position to the end point.
use cobalt drills. they are the best solution fir that kind of job.
