I sold my Lionclaw CNC Router to fund my latest project a 40W CO2 laser cutter from the buildlog.net - CNC Laser Buildlogs forum.
Its about 95% done, just need to put the finishing touches on it.
Im going to look into that Ti-Ni coating there is a place here in Cape Town that does it
Yep if noticed if the parts I cut have a lot of nodes on the machine tends to cut jerky then where the cutter...
I cant go that fast the machine has some serious X leadscrew whip so I limit the max rapid and feed to about 70 ipm I dont think it would be rigid enough to cut that fast anyway only using 3mm pitch...

Geof the cutters are solid carbide been done the HSS route already

The machine has been up and running for about 3 weeks now everything is sorted out including dust extractor which works really well.I have been cutting a lot of these dinosaur skeletons out of 3mm...
A 60 degree V bit engraver will work great, just make sure you get a carbide one as the HSS ones dull very quick when engraving plastic.
Onsrud have a nice kit of these v bit engravers...
Anti Backlash Nuts have been ordered from dumpstercnc hope they arrive in a few weeks.
Going to finish wiring the motors this weekend hopefully and get the machine up and running since moving it

Sorry to hear about that, I dont know of any cheaper O flute cutters though.
Try use a air nozzle directed at the cutter to help clear the chips while cutting, this really helps.just be ultra...

I made the cable carrier as per Shannon's DXF files, made it out of 6mm satin orange and 3mm frosted acrylic.I still have to fit it to my machine, but it snapped together tightly no glue necessary...
