I don't use Facebook or any of the social media .
I didn't get fancy with my 770 , machine , stand , chip tray and power draw bar .
I'm keeping all the tool holders I have for the 440 ,...
I've developed a relationship with a rather good customer . Such a good relationship that he wants me to take on more work and wants to finance my ability to do so with a real vmc .
I have a...
Personally as someone who started with manual machines I'd think long and hard about getting rid of it unless you need the money.
You can jog the thing around and use it exactly like a manual mill...
No worries there ... I'm already portly :)
It makes me feel lazy . I used to like spending time making things on my lathe .
Now with having the 770 dialed in im taking parts out of the mill, running them in the tumbler for a couple hours...
Yes I said , and I mean it . I flipping hate cnc .
Oh sure I just love being able to hit the green button and watch stuff magically appear with no more effort then slapping a few tools in the...
I look and see all the successful superglue videos and I just can't make myself do it , and I know it'll work .
Heck I've used it lots of times on the lathe ....
I ran a couple test parts...
I know the super glue and tape thing works , seen it on YouTube plenty of times , I'm just not brave enough to try it .
But doing two at once and leaving tabs isn't a bad idea , wish I'd of...
There isn't enough of them to make it worthwhile to set up a vacuum pump or get to crazy with fixturing .
And a bit of bow in the middle isn't a big deal tolerances are quite large .
Parts...
Some of you might remember that i picked up some outside work a little while back and bought a pncnc 440 to do it .
I've been asked to do a second job for the same guy and I'm not so lucky for...
I use mostly 4140 in my 770 , but I do small parts and don't remove tons of excess materials .
But I've found that looking for a bigger tool isn't always the best solution for getting things done...
I'm new to this , I have a 770m And a 440 due in next week .
In anealed 4140 once I got the finish passes dialed in plus or minus .001 has been relatively easy to maintain .
Before I got the...
I decided to quit waffling and jump on the opportunity , maybe once it's here I'll get rid of my little horizontal mill or shaper
It's a tough decision , I don't use either of the two very often...
Keeping my long term customers happy is my priority .
Maybe I'm looking at this wrong , I see it as an opportunity to make a few bucks and at the same time get a back up machine that is small...
Yea I did luck into it , I guess the shop that usually does them is closed for virus and no one else wants to do the job or can't do it in a timely manner .
I'm trying my best to crunch the...
Won't be using flood coolant or a power draw bar so no worries there .
I was considering using the tool cabinet because it's quite a bit higher then the cast iron table saw work bench .
Be easier...
I'm super happy with my 770 , so happy that I've been telling everyone I know exactly how happy i am .
Because of that word has gotten around that I have a cnc mill and this morning I was offered...
I've used my tc tapping head exactly two times with a 8-40 tap and haven't broken it yet :)
I used it at 500 rpm to . I can't see where a few rpm either way would make a difference .
I've discovered a pitfall to owning a cnc mill .
People come out of the woodwork asking to make crap for them
Stupid crap at that .
They also seem to think you just rub the magic genie three...
I'm trying my best to keep the battle scars to a minimum.
I haven't got my vise yet , but when clamping a piece down to the table I forgot to take tool dia into account and did a right nice job...
I've had the new mill up and running for about two months now .
I now wonder why I didn't just take out a loan and do this two years ago .
Man o man my life is so much easier now , admittedly...
So I just sent my shopping cart for a quote :)

Talk to enough people and you can get the answers your looking for :)
Found a fellow who was willing to do a bit of leg work , and they can delay shipping a few days to be able to give a set...
You know , even getting that much out of tormach would be great . Fantastic , stupendous even .
But what I got from them in a nutshell was , we get your check , cash it and stuff will ship all...
The liftgate charge isn't a big deal if I could make use of it , but I can't get a truck close enough to my shop to make use of it , throw in a gravel driveway and a forklift becomes well worth the...
So much to learn ...
I've been working on learning fusion pretty much every morning and evening as I find the time .
There is a brain numbing amount of things to learn . So I've just blocked...
I tried to post a couple pics , so I guess I need to use a hosting service ?
Anyhoo . For what I want to do efficiency doesn't play much of a role , I won't be doing anything close to what might...
