Well, life got in the way, but I finally got the mill in position and made the wiring changes as directed. BUT, I get a -UU error, which the manual says is undervoltage. I put a meter between the R...
It won't be an issue, as my mill doesn't have the power knee option. I did get the handcrank handle with it, so I'm good to go! Thanks!
I've made many a mistake setting parameters in servo drives, even when all I had to do was set them to match a list, so I am glad for that!
The spindle motor is 5HP, the dataplate max current for the machine is 25 amps. I have a 50 amp 240V circuit to put it on, so that should be good. I would have never thought to jumper two phase...
I attached pdfs of the three sheets I think are relevant. The one with the coolant pump also shows a power knee option, which I do not have. To my untrained eye, it looks like all three lines are...
I'll post a few PDF's in a few minutes. The spindle drive is on one sheet, and there are two more that have power distribution info. I can tell that the servo drives and control are run from 240V,...
Yeah, I actually realize this (I didn't know the date!) , but you still hear a lot of people refer to it as 110V 220V!
I do have the diagram, actually most of the documentation. Do you need me to post it here?
I am planning to set up a TREE 425 mill with the Yaskawa VS 626 MT III drive in my garage, I would love to get details on how to do this! I do have a 50 amp 220V USA type circuit available. Thanks in...
Link still works for me!
Looking good! Glads to see you pushing it with steel.
Very nice! Can't wait to see it cutting steel.
I'm impressied! Glad you are updating the CAD as you work out the kinks, I am not one bit ashamed to say I'll wait for you to get this running before I start cutting. At the rate you are moving, I'll...
Looks like the model! Nice work. I just found out I'm going to have two months off, unemployment is currently MORE than my regular paycheck, so I do believe I will be finishing my lathe. Planning to...
I got the models, this is an impressive design. I'll look at it more closely tomorrow at work, but at least at first glance, I think it will be a perfect fit for my lathe!
Thanks! I'll PM you my email as soon as I figure out how to pm on here!
Looking good! Are you planning to release the turret prints? I'd be willing to pay to avoid doing the design work....
I'm setting mine up with a spindle encoder (100PPR quadrature + index) and two MPG handwheel encoders, But I haven't got it running yet, still working on the cast iron. I'm also looking forward to...
Or to Linuxcnc!
Let's see - Profile rough, profile finish, face rough, face finish, center drill, drill, tap, boring bar, internal threading, profile threading, parting..... You's need a 20" X to hold them all!...
I second the limit switch question, I'm trying to work out how many I want and where to put them.
I'm working on converting an old Jet turret lathe. It's similar in swing and bed length, but a lot beefier. You do some nice work! Really making me want to get mine in the mill to cut proper rail...
HemiRoadRunner, you are a lifesaver! THANKS!
I know this is an ancient thread, but thanks!
Thanks for the update. I'm planning to build something similar myself, using .130" (3.3mm) vinyl window screen spline as the gasket. This stuff is dirt cheap over here, about $4.00USD for 25' (7.6M)...
Now that you've had it a while, can you tell us how well it works? I'd like to know your maximum cuts, feed and speed, etc. Thanks!
