Have you tried 3dcontentcentral, or maybe traceparts.com?
Kurt vises I think has 3d models of their product line available for download, I'm sure others do as well.
Also, I'm not sure but I think...
Andrey,
The product looks excellent and from the positive reviews I'd like to get one...can you please email purchase details to [email protected]?
Thanks,
Chuck
Wdwkr53,
I don't know exactly what you're looking for, but Bobcad/Cam is not an instrument controller or G-code interpreter. It cannot replace Mach3, only generate G-code that Mach3 can process. ...
What are you milling?
If it is foam or wax, such as for investment casting or whatnot, the taig is great (I own one) for approx that volume...the Z will obviously depend on tool length and feature...
I had fooled around with free web video and the software for a month before 'essentials training' and found I had already picked up about half of it just by playing a bit.
I have found a couple of...
+1
I use the hole wizard to place the first hole in each row directly on the circumference of the cylinder, then circular pattern it. Is this something like what you're after?
Chuck
Are you sure the parting blade is perfectly perpendicular to the workpiece?
Also, how extended from the toolholder do you have the blade?
I should ask what diameter parts you're turning rather...
I would go with more flow over deeper vacuum level. My 2 cents. Gast are OK, I love KNF Neuberger diaphragm pumps myself. Not cheap although used on ebay I've seen some sweet deals.:wee:
One thing I've had smashing success with is taking a page from the o-ring principles used in mating vacuum fittings in mass-spectroscopy and other lab research instrumentation (day job).

Russell,
Someone did!
We use multichannel peristaltic pumps in the biotech industry for lots of things. I used a spare 4-channel for my pressure-lube on my Taig mill. Different diameter tubing on...
Greg,
I assume by cut a circle that you mean profile a circle. What CAM software are you using to generate the g-code for your profile and pocket? I'm wondering if the oval isn't due to some lead...
I've got some great non-machining types of accidents.
Years ago when in high school, I worked stocking a bar in the early mornings. Heard yelling from the kitchen one morning, rush in...the prep...
All,
PM's sent, job has been let. Thanks everybody. More later, need to finalize this one first. Much appreciated to everyone who responded or PM'd.
Chuck
Hello all,
So I've been a machining hobbyist for a long time, with the inevitable bleed into my regular work life. I've got a part I made a prototype of for work, now I'm in need of a set of 4 and...
Beautiful workmanship and a great looking design! I've had a taig for 7 years and have been too busy making little parts for work to really work my own projects. How much are your plans?
I am...
The short answer is 'no'. Bobcad is totally unable to produce any sort of real engineering drawings. This is also true of the Bobcad version of solidworks, which is a shame.
Best of luck,
Chuck
I've had great luck sourcing material like that as drops from my local sign shop (or plastic fabricator for boats, store displays, etc like TAP plastics). You will find they have tons of sheet...
I've had really good luck with Ebay...I look for lots (groups) or whole assemblies...for pneumatics you can get dump valve with lockout, inline solenoid, nice large filter bowl, oil/mist filter, and...
Good luck with that. I've posted on this before, basically the ability to make decent prints is totally missing from BCC (at least thru v23).
The only solution I've found or heard of is to (say...
amateur78t,
I have some slight experience with a related application, but am no expert. That said, plexiglass/lexan, etc I don't think you can consider structural elements really. They are pretty...
Yes, that sounds like an excellent idea...a nice cheap sunglasses lens should certainly protect you from structured coherent light at least as well as the proper filters.
I like to fireproof my...
Well, can't help with the Haas schematics, but if you're got a Haas of any stripe, you'll be needing one of these:...
Great work! Looks like an inspired project.
Thanks Dave's_not_here, I'm off to the website to order one for myself...been thinking about something like that for awhile. Timely inspiration!
'aint the 'zone great?!?!
traceflair,
Well you've got me on the ~2in bottom radius and without seeing the part it's hard to tell what the choices could be. I would definitely ramp if using a ball-endmill for the smaller...
twocik,
Personally I use 3 flute cutters over 2 flutes for deeper slotting and pocketing...in my experience they flex less, especially in "medium diameters". For small shanks like 1/8" shank...
Bottom Line: If you can live without the standard edition's 2D prints feature and the features of the Pro edition, Bobcad has an attractive offering in the OEM package.
Plus side:
1) after a...
mcphil,
Thanks for the response, that was about what I thought in terms of the number of users who would have experience with the OEM product. Glad to know the BobCAM plug-in seems happy, if I did...
