I sent you an email about getting a 24x36 tabletop. Can you email me pricing info when you get a minute or is it listed on your site somewhere?
Thanks
Matt
Update: Found pricing on...
Nice work on those boards. I assume they are double sided pcb's and not single sided glued together to make a 2 layer board? I looked at Target3001 but stuck with EasyPC which I use at work. Its...
Hello
The gerber files are from a posted design by Franz Achatz over on the mbed.org forums. His design is of a clone of the mbed development platform. I used his gerbers as they well...
It was done with a Bosch Colt router and Think n Tinker precision collets. PCB gerber was taken from a published gerber set I found online strickly used for testing milling. The bit was a 90deg...
[QUOTE=mcphill your hole registration looks way off. Did you drill then mill, or mill then drill? What kind of drill bits are you using? I aleays use the engraving bit to spot my holes so the...
Those look great Andrew. I used 90deg bits on mine. I was going to try some 45 or 60deg bits to see if the traces can be milled finer. What do you use to hold your boards to the table? I have...

Eagle and pcb-gcode.
I know more people have milled boards, so dont be shy post those pictures for everyone to see....and maybe ttell us what software and bits???
Submit pictures of boards you've milled here for examination..haha.
I enjoy seeing what others have accomplished.

I have the Colt and with stock collet the runout is as shown in the video.
I did upgrade to the Think n Tinker collet and precision nut and the results are also shown in the videos.

Also doesnt account for backlash unless you set the zero moving one way and on your final approach came the other direction to the zero. But it is still a nice feeling when everything comes up Zero...
Looks good Scott!!!!
I did some PCB milling today with mine and was quite impressed with the results, although not perfect......yet.

MACH3 Squareness Compensation results

Other stuff to do:
1) Check and adjust (if possible) squareness of machine.
GOOD LUCK with this one!!!
I just had to machine my gantry sides to allow me to adjust the squareness of the machine....
[QUOTE=sagreen;901009]Didn't make much progress over the weekend, but I thought I'd post a few thoughts on the machine...
Cons:
1) I'm not pleased with the gantry height. I want to run an indexer...
K2CNC makes a nice mount for the Colt. It bolted right up to my Z axis.
Matt
Im guessing you mean +/- 5 thou per foot as 5000 thou is 5 inches?
When looking at the machine from above this is the squareness error I measure. The grey blocks show the overhead view of the hiwin rails. The 36" and 24" rails should be 90degrees but in fact they...
So I started trying to adjust the squareness of the machine tonight and I kinda hit a brick wall so to speak. I'm hoping that George has some hints or tips to help me.
I have the Raptor 24x30...
AWESOME. It almost looks like you used a very small endmill. I mainly use V bits for the PCB's and they work okay but setting the depth is a pain in the A$$. What size chip is that in the pic?
...
I think George's machines are fantastic for the money. Could it be better...yes...but not at the price he's selling them for. Does it take him a while to ship the machines even when he tells you...
Can you post a video of this? I would love to see those kinds of cuts on aluminum with these machines as I have not dared try it yet. What kind of spindle do you use? I was leary with my...
I would LOVE to see a better picture of the last board which looks great! I was hoping to do some fine PCB work myself with my RaptorX. I have not gotten the machine setup yet to cut PCB's but...
George
On your parts link you have 2x3' tabletops for a reasonable price. How much to get the holes drilled in them on top of the listed price? and how many of the 2x3 do you have?
I use hot glue to hold down most odd shaped parts. I have used it to hold everything from wood to aluminum to circuit boards with very good results. Also it removes very easy from most materials. ...

Looks good I see you did left to right tram but did you also do front to back tram? How good was that? Have you also checked squareness numbers yet to see how square everything is?
