Are you running shielded cables that are only connected to ground at the driver side?
Someone said they grounded their table with a ground rod it that solved their issues.

Excellent work. I've wanted to build a BT30 ATC spindle for my mill for a while. I have a BP 2J2 head that is QC30 and a lot of BT30 tooling. Reading this whole post has got me wanting to tackle...
It doesn't appear you are running shielded wires on your stepper motor wiring. You can try wrapping your wires in aluminum foil and ground it at the same grounding point that you are using for all...
You could measure the resistance of each phase and figure out the rest from there. I just don't know the math At The Moment. Also you could disassemble a bad motor to look at the windings.

Looks very nice. Can you post a video of it in action? The ball looks really nice.

You need to post in the sheetcam forum. It's not a machine issue and seems like an issue with the G code sheetcam is producing.

Your lead screw mounting is the problem it sounds. You should have a sandwich of bearings on one side so that no matter how hard you pull on the screw it has zero in and out play.

I learned CAD on CATIA as well as CAM. No way ill ever afford CATIA so SW or Alibre arw my to options along with HSM or GibsCAM. Ive tried to use SW a while back and it seemed not as easy to use but...
I just got some Trim Microsol 685 for my machines btw. It's a semi-synthetic that is for multiple metals both ferrous and non-ferrous. Got 5 gallons for $115 shipped from Zoro tools with free...
Do you use suggested concentration or your own? I've used TrimSol can't remember the number of it in a shop. It was the blue stuff. I think they recommend 20% concentration but we ran it at 5% with...
I personally like BT30 for it's ease of tool changes and mainly for the use of collet tooling. It's easier to remove the collet nut on BT30 over TTS tooling. Downside is for ATC you need spindle...
I've used small fixture plates that are held in a vise and just indicated in with a pin and a height check. Was good enough for aircraft work. And was easy to store and move around. The machines had...
I think that .005mm accuracy might not be achievable with a worm gear drive. I would think it could on a belt drive with a lot of reduction like 5:1 to give you maximum holding torque. I also like...
I bought that and more. Spent about $3k with MIGE. Was scary but everything works great and the build quality is good. I don't expect to have to open them up for at least 5 years and I'm thinking it...
Oh. Ill have to look into it deeper. I had it backwards in my head.

That is a very nice idea for a ATC. I'm almost ready to order my Torus Pro. With a 24 tool ATC and PDB this will definitely turn into a very decent small production machine. I can't wait to see...
I got this 3.8 KW AC Servo for one of my machines. It's only 2500 rpm but puts out 5hp and will run on 220v single phase. If you only need 2.5 hp you can just run it 2:1 ratio and have a 5000rpm...
I ended up replacing the lathe with a PM1236. Much happier with it. I can take pretty hefty cuts with it compared to the 1127. I'll buy more from QMT in the future.

This is comical. What is not so funny is that Mr. Anderson's retainer is probably SignWaves money. I'm not to sure why Novakan is brought into it. Maybe some warranty claim from someone that...
Did you say you are using Trim Sol for coolant? We use that stuff at the shop I work part time in. I'm actually there now waiting for parts to finish. I was wondering how you diluted it? Here on...
Pete that is some nice progress. I like the Drives you went with. I'm actually waiting for the exact same couplers to come in for a project. You should be pleased with EMC2. I put it on a few...
I do have to agree with others that you can't just jump in and expect to get it done. If you don't know CAD/CAM at all you are in for a very very steep learning curve. You can't just load a cad...
I like the idea of a sliding fixture table. Use some box linear ways for the slide that you mount to the table. Make a referanced edge to get it square. I would probably have it not slide more than...
I say look at the novakon as well. You will be hard pressed to find a better machine for the money. A tool changer changes the whole game. But you would have to make one or use a table mounted one...
Pretty sweet compressor man. I love how silent it is. For others with a traditional 5HP 2 stage compressor if you move the intake to say out side or even in the attic and put a large filter like...
Well I got it home now. I'm getting ready to take the table and saddle off this weekend to start the clean up. I guess I'll just contact Harig for a manual. I'm pretty excited to see this thing in...
My vote is to go for the Tormach. Converting a mill takes time and their is a learning curve. The Tormach will do what you need for the 1911's. I don't think the Tiag is up to the task for doing...
Hi I just purchased a used Harig 618 Slicer AutoStep. It's a NC Slicer/Surface Grinder. It has been sitting outside for a few weeks and has gotten water in a rear oil cup, and some of the frosting...
I've been super busy for the past few months. In a few weeks I'm finally going to finish mine up. I recently got a Blade MSRX heli and man they are fun to crash. I wouldn't wish a full collective...
Congratulations. I have four of my own. They make it hard to find time.
