Thanx for reply Geof, I do feel a little better! I guess we will just have to build up a platform!
Wondering if the pendulum/control panel, is verticly adjustable on my new Haas TL3 lathe?
Was going to build up a "board walk" but herd a rumor that Imay be able to adjust the pendulum.
At 5`4"...
exactly..the hardest parts getting it close, concentrate on two opposite sides at a time.
if your on a lathe?? you could also lay out your center and use your tail stock to "get it close...i could be way of base if your in a mill..
Takes alot of practice, but well worth it, most shops ive worked at had the drill shapeners, if my dog had thumbs he could do it! But for one the dont do large drills and well its kinda the lazy way....
LINUX Ubuntu, or any other linux...the only way to go
yep that would be me!!
Have you tried programing it on in MDI (M3 S500). could be just it dosnt turn on in certian modes (handle, jog, edit?)
im sorry. i just reread your post and gave you relly stupid info that you...
re: Work offset, Im not shure if this will help you at all, but my m/c (is an ancient shizoka) and wasnt actually programed to use G52 work offsets (they where a feature that was actually sold!!)....
Wow, this is relly...um...fun, according to dryrun I am now succsefully milling a hole of some size..somewhere, wich may sound bad, but I was thinking this m/c could only drill and tap...so im leaps...
LOL, well fiirst off, ima girl, but with all the help im getting you may call me boy! :)
and im having the same difficulty w remembering my I's and K's, but with what I have in this thread I am...
yea I did find the formula F= N x RPM x f (N=#of teeth f=feed rt. in inches per tooth)
but i have no idea what the f is for each tooth (trying to remember from school, is pretty small # like 0.01...
so correct me if i am wrong but I program in the D51, then in my offset pg in # 51 I can imput my Diameter,
The H value works according to tool, ex. T16 = H16, and it pulls its info from offset...
I was under the assumtion that I could just program in D#, correct me if im wrong (my brain is set on "monday")
I have not seen any D's (dia) in any of the m/c's previous programming and have no idea how to use it.
I can sucessfuly drill holes, but now I am trying to mill a 2" hole (w. 3/4" mill) and have...
It seems that i do not have a D51, in my controls...for that matter no way that I
know to set any tool dia's
I am running a CNC mill, and am going to use a holesaw (or annular cutter)
They are 2" (22 teeth) 2 1/2" (26 teeth) and 2 3/4" (28 teeth) and have a pilot drill
I am cutting thru 1/4" brackets, (cs...
Hahahaha, Thanx everyone! This has been a very interesting thread indeed, and thanx to the CNCzone I have worked out Most of the "bugs" in my m/c. Reassured I will always stay paranoid while on this...
Problem resolved...
Huflundung is a genius...was exactly right in operation instructions, i just executed it poorly.
All my H (tooling) Had been put in program in accordance to block#'s ex N1=H1 ...
At 200 bones im shure it will be worth it! That machine looks perfect for what you need...get back to me when shes good to go...interested to hear how it runs
Are you having troubles setting up? If not its such an old machine that evertything will be VERY basic...but by the looks of it from you should be ablr to do just about anything on her...from cutting...
That looks like a sturdy m/c you should have fun with that...im quite fond of milling but am not shure what is is you need to know...Have you had it set-up (electrical work done) Are your feeds...
8399 is as high as the parameters go in this m/c, Im quite a newb when it comes to parameter settins (bear with me)
I also thought these param's might be of some use:
N2125 P 0
N2126 P 0
N2127 P 0
N2128 P 0
N3000 P 120
N3001 P 0
N3002 P 0
N3003 P 0
N3004 P 0
And so on....
I have deducted the 6" from my Z value (in pure desperation...ill try anything)
In the workshift pg (00) i still end up 6" above piece, so this pg is usless,
Tried directly in prgm....
I belive what you would like to see in the parameters is in the 700's
I backed them all up into my comp. so if there is any others i should post no prob. :)
N0700 P 00307000
N0701 P 00002000 ...
OKiee- now what ive tried:
In Offsets pg there is a "00" this is my workshift offset (01=G54 02=G55ect)
I home my axis Z0, in relitive pg. I set Zero, jogged dwn to piece, got a readout of...
Ok ... Using the "gauge block set-up" here is what I did:
I chose a Gauge that was 13" as the top of my piece is 8"
I home all axis
Touch top of my piece w T1, Zero on "relitave" screen
Jog to...
This would be typiucally what i would usally do BUT my m/c is not reading any G54's ect...I am currently trying Huflungs idea and cant wait to post what happens
This is how the begining of my prgm. goes, sorry about lack of spaces.
Also my m/c has been restarted a dozen times since i started this project...and homed about 3 dozen LOL
