Have you tried running whatever program you're using for transfer in compatibility mode?
Our machine with gearbox makes a strange chirping/squealing noise during certain RPM ranges, but much lower (like 1000-3500).
our HFO did quite a bit of analysis and back and forth with the...
Hi all,
I went to do a toolchange on my VF-1 with umbrella carousel. It got almost all the way under the spindle, jammed, then alarmed out.
I traced this to the part that can be seen below. ...
Go on the Haas website and look for the programming workbook, or something to that extent. It has a fantastic number of examples and exercises you can work through.
Used to happen to me all the time. Tech couldn't really figure out what was going on-wanted to replace the entire display board.
I just make sure to ground myself on the fold down tray/door thing...
It's 500 on our 2007 VF-1. Kind of BS, since it has 16 megs of memory, yet I have to delete programs quite often to stay under 500.
Nothing happens when you try to upload one more. It just warns...
If you have a spindle with only 300 hours on it, shouldn't it be under warranty? I don't have a Doosan (Have a Haas) but all installed parts on our machine carry a 6 month warranty. I can't imagine...
I'm a big, big fan of Maritool. The initial purchase of tooling for our machine was all way too expensive stuff (Regofix collet chucks, Techniks drill chucks/end mill holders/face mill arbor) due to...
What material are you broaching? A 3 ton press should work just fine for 1/8" keyways. We use a 5T for up to 1/2" hex broaches in 4140/4340 and it works well. We used to have a smaller 2 or 3 ton...
It takes all but 3 seconds to hit "list program" "end" "warm up" "current commands" "cycle start". Plus you only do it once a day.
Will it matter? The pitbull clamps have a good deal of travel. They should be able to accommodate any extra distance they have to travel due to the deflection in the rear wall of that slot.
I've had my gearbox replaced twice and both times they deduct 50% of the cost of the new part when they take the old one with them. They told me the same applies to spindles as well.
The good news is it won't be $4200. You get half that credited back to you when they take the old one with them.
Wouldn't that also eliminate your spindle as the source of the problem?
My machine has this same problem. You don't even want to hear my horror story with how many gearboxes/tests we went through with it.
Long story short, the factory claims it's because they...
I think the TM mills have a grease lubed spindle.
I have a feeling the TM tool changer has more spacing between tools, because this doesn't just not fit by a little, it doesn't fit by a mile.
When we got our machine I specified that I wanted the non-gearbox 10k spindle, as I didn't want to spend an additional $4400.
The quote sat there for awhile while our financial people did their...
I can make this cut, or close to it, at about 100% spindle load on a VF-1 with the 10k spindle and gearbox.
Dave,
I'm curious to see your pictures, as by my mental math/ the CAD mockup we did of the toolholder's taper and the ring on the spindle, the clearances involved make it look impossible to not...
It must. I changed pit202's design minimally. Almost all exterior dimensions are identical.
Slapped it on the spindle last night, ran a toolchange at 5% rapid. Smashed right into the adjacent...
Pit202:
Did you ever receive your toolchanger and try to use your ring with it?
We made our own for a VF-1 and it looks like there's no possible way to keep from crashing into adjacent tools.
You can buy this.
It's called the Chipenator and it's sold by US Shop Tools.
I don't have my manual in front of me, but I'm pretty sure Renishaw only calls out the TIR to be 0.010 or less. As long as you don't take the probe out of the machine and rotate it 180* when you put...
Maritool is the greatest tooling company ever, imo.
My initial tooling purchase was all name brand stuff. Regofix collet chucks, Albrecht drill chucks, etc. ~$180 per collet chuck. Really...
Interesting. I assumed that the work offsets worked the same as in the quick code macros for probing. I guess not.
I was thinking about this yesterday as well. It's certainly possible. My...
I was basing my code off the example renishaw provides in their inspection plus manual, which includes a feedrate, so I think that shouldn't be an issue.
I just shut the machine down for the...
Doesn't seem to have done the trick... I guess I'll call Renishaw on Monday.
I'm having this same problem.
I just sat down and wrote my very first "custom" probe cycle, since I got tired of jogging the probe into position and manually executing the probing cycles.
My...
I wouldn't buy that.
If someone was going to give it to me, the first thing I would do is repaint it...it looks REALLY tacky.
