For impressing the ladies!! (looks great, file saved for my next spoilboard)
+10 Bonus Points for putting one of these on your enclosure doors . . .

I'd just tell my kids to suck it up - Dad's watching a movie.

I found a good use for the aluminum gauge blocks. Mount them to the front extrusion to use as a clamping surface.

.
Would this work?
.
Something I'm planning on doing with my machine is to slice the spoilboard with an 1/8" bit down the middle of the extra extrusion. That way I can remove the section closest to me by just loosening...

Looks good!!

You're going to really like it. One of the most complete and easy to build kits I've built. I'd recommend ordering your dust shoe now BEFORE you surface your spoilboard. I'm still cleaning up...
.
Added a KentCNC dust shoe to the router. Michael at KentCNC did an OUTSTANDING job helping me get exactly what I needed.

.
Yes, I ordered two extra crossmembers to support the spoilboard. I think they charged me $150 for the extra extrusion and support hardware.

I am 95% sure that this is the company that CNCRP uses for the extrusion. When you order the kit, the extrusion is drop shipped from here then the other parts arrive a couple weeks later.

Like a Jedi knight, a CNC Hobby machine can't be considered complete until it cuts its own spoilboard.

NEMA 23 motors, and they seem to move the gantry around with authority. I can't imagine what the 34's do. I have only gone with the stock settings from CNCRP at this point. Apparently the XML...

You're going to like it. Unless you really enjoy the pain and suffering that goes along with "rolling your own", the CNCRP Plug N Play is the way to go. Another cheap "mod" you can do is to add...

Got the axes moving today. I'm really glad I bought the Plug N Play system . . .

A few more photos. Make sure your label maker has plenty of tape before you start wiring.

. . getting close enough to done that I can smell the burnt bits. Got the Z-axis installed, as well as the cable tracks and the initial runs of the cables. All of the cable lengths were very...

Another day of building. Since I'm working with an already assembled wood frame, I have to build a bit on the CNC, then do some woodwork, then CNC, then more woodwork. My new favorite tool is...

Made more progress, installing the Rack & Pinion pieces today.

I don't know how to rotate some of the photos. It looks like CNCZone is auto-rotating them.

Made some good progress today. One aspect that doesn't really come through in the videos is how SOLID this thing is. Every component has some pretty good heft to it and you can tell this is...

I shared that more as a warning to others . .

Picked up a large box today I had shipped to FedEx Office . . . no ransom demand . .
.
.
I finally got a chance to dig into all those boxes. Unfortunately, no leg lamp, but the boxes did contain a bunch of VBGs (very big grins). Cory, you and your crew definitely knock it out of the...

Harsh lesson learned today about the UPS Store. I wasn't sure about my schedule this week, so I had Cory ship the boxes to my local UPS Store instead of my house. When the boxes got in, the...

I know there's a Leg Lamp inside one of these boxes . . .

Got the tracking number yesterday . . . . parts are scheduled to arrive on Feb. 8th . .

Cory promised me that the kit would be shipping this week . . . . patiently sitting here refreshing my email box waiting for tracking numbers . . .

The odds of getting a cutter down into one of those 9 recessed bolt heads is extremely small. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.

Is this your first CNC?

Looks good to me!! Nothing wrong with 2x4's and Zip Ties.

Do the divots always happen at the same place in the cut or at random locations?
