  1. Re: My Sound Dampening Enclosure for almost finished CNC Router

That is awesome webmax. Very well built and the sound deadening works really well. Congrats.
  2. (TUTORIAL) Butt-joining profile linear rail with limited tools

    Hi All,
After seeing the question raised recently and having seen it asked many times before, I've thrown together a small tutorial/guide for butt-joining linear rail without having access to a mill...
  3. Question regarding strength of single 20mm linear carriage

    Hi all,
I've been using my CNC router and love it a lot, but I have a few linear carriages and rail sitting around gathering dust, so I thought about building a LIGHT duty engraver/router for wood...

  5. Re: My Sound Dampening Enclosure for almost finished CNC Router

First sound test complete. Using a laminate router at max rpm. You can hear how the sound level drops quite a bit once the third latch is hooked in and pulled tight.

  6. My Sound Dampening Enclosure for almost finished CNC Router

    Hello All,
I thought I'd share my progress with my sound dampening enclosure I've been building for my CNC router.

Re: What would YOU do with all this?

I already have everything I need for my 3'x2' CNC.

These parts are just for making something small and sturdy to learn with or play with etc. I like the latch on the door though :)

  11. Re: Question re: Linear rail vs Supported rails

Thanks for the replies. Well, yesterday I kind of landed with my a** in the butter and scored a bunch of INA and THK 20mm carriages and some 20mm profile rail too. I think the THK stuff might be...
  12. Question re: Linear rail vs Supported rails

    Hi All,
Just a question regarding rails, if I may.
I'm planning my new build, with Max cutting area of around 500mmx300mm. I need rigidity, not size as I want to mill/cut aluminium.
    Is it really...

Thanks Viper. They are standard skate bearings 22mm x 8mm x 7mm ID on aluminum angle.

I know what you mean. The pipe I can get for about £20 or $30 so its not splashing out too much for them. ...
  14. Rails and Angle - Going out of my mind

    Hi All,
This is driving me crazy now. I have 5m of 3/4" aluminum angle already but I keep swaying towards using pipes as rails. I have all the bearings too.
