Looks like some heavy grinding(?) on that flange. If enough heat is generated it could cause problems ? Just a guess based on no experience.
Off topic question, does China sell flange-less...
Geezer ? I resemble that remark :)
The software is on your computer. The CAD files you create are in a temporary directory on your computer and also stored by Autodesk.
The temp files get flushed...
tigrimmy doesn't say so explicitly but it sounds like a business ventutre of more than $1K/yr. Plus Autodesk pulled 4th axis from the hobby license....and rapids....and various file...
It's a hangout for developers, linux geeks and power users. With that type of membership questions are often answered with links to documents. Much work goes into those documents and pointing users...
Like powering both knee+quill ? That's what I'm picturing but the original question is a bit murky. And where (what) are the car parts ?
As for 2 steppers, a more conventional anti-backlash...
About that survey:
I answered NO to the last question because I'm not interested in being on a mailing list. If it's on github or similar I'll give it a try.

but that's Wikipedia so who knows how accurate. The quote suggests at least some ancestry (code) is shared...
I've always associated emc to be synonymous with the project now known as linuxcnc. According to Wikipedia the name emc existed from NIST days. ...
I read somewhere Mach(whatever number) had the same origins as emc. I don't know if that's true but the (old) emc documentation and the early Mach docs have whole sections that are near identical. ...
That G18 G3 three lines above has nothing to do with it ?
Some one else with an old control posted problems with Fusion's swoop-dive style approach moves. I'm assuming this is an old control based...
Is all the finish work done with a brush or is something else going on ? To make that farm sign I would have to paste in a picture :)
If it's all brush work that's some high level skill.
I've built and still use a machine in roughly this layout although my components are not near the quality proposed here.
When in use it's footprint is larger than an equivalent moving gantry but...
Egads did I install an operating system or adware ?
Dear Microsoft:
Please allow me to run Fusion 360 and quit bothering with features and offers I don't want.
Is there a way to turn this stuff...
If 1 inch steel plate isn't up to the job the plate becomes stock for my larger mill, nothing lost.
My guess is something else will start deflecting first and the extra mass may do some good....
I abandoned the plan for a reason There's the germ of a good idea in there somewhere(?) but I won't try to defend the untested :)
My mill is in an enclosure so it's difficult to take a picture...
This may not be the problem but:
Try marking the position with a short tool like a centre drill and then rechecking the position with whatever you've got that's long and straight with a pointy end....
Here's a mod I started on my X2 but never completed. The idea was to have bolts or set screws coming in from the sides.
Obviously I've done no testing.

Out of curiosity I plugged an Arduino Uno into Windows 10. It showed up as a generic "USB serial device (COM 3)"
You may need to install the IDE or at least a driver. The IDE install offers a...
disclaimer: I rarely use Windows and have never used Candle. I'll assume Candle is a sender for grbl.
Since the Arduino has already been flashed with grbl I don't think there's any need to...
If it's a Kerk lead screw it will have some form of anti-backlash. You could ask the seller the screw/nut model # as Kerk has several.
My preference would be a ball screw over acme.
Oh I misunderstood the problem. This image shows work piece position being defined in FreeCad
It's a program to cut a square.

Cambam will have something similar. I looked at Cambam years...
I have no knowledge of grblgru but some experience with grbl and senders.
The concepts in linuxcnc and grbl are the same. There are:
Machine xyz coordinates which are set by homing the...
Yeah I've also seen weirdness from this website's software. Please don't feel obligated to reply, I don't post here for thanks, mostly it's boredom with my current reality. I got this in my...
I looked up the specs of a 3018 and read dimensions of 300 x 180 with a cutting area slightly less than the machine dimensions.
Is your machine larger ?
Table locks are the little levers that can apply pressure on the gib strips. Your manual may call them by some other name. Unlike the acme screws in your mill a ball screw has very little friction...
Your post covers a lot of ground so I'll just post some random thoughts.
That mill appears to be a variant (near copy) of the Sieg X2 mini-mill ? If I'm wrong about that the rest of this post won't...
I'm not sure how the term "lag' is being used in in the top post.
To measure deflection a dial indicator would be handy to narrow down the source. My guess is the v-wheels with their stand-offs are...
I think this book will include examples up to Mill Level 3. These are high quality and were distributed by Mastercam sales reps.

The information in this link is mostly Greek to me but Linuxcnc can do what you ask:
