Thanks for the response. The acme screw is about 3.5" long. I'm not sure if it is glued onto the normal shaft or part of it. I don't want to destroy one to find out.

If you still have those catalogs, can you look something up for me? I have a bunch of 23E-6103K steppers with what looks to be a 3/8"-10 ACME leadscrew on the shaft. What is this animal? A Linear...

If at all possible, I would also like to have a set of plans. I do have a question for you. Is the gantry drive (the one moving the gantry) single sided or is there a ballscrew on both sides?
