Bump, any hints?
Sorry, I thought the Fadal 88hs controller was Fanuc based, especially since I don't see a Fadal controller sub-forum. I'll post in the Fadal machining center
I'm trying to write a warm up program that steps through rpm values. I found you can use Variables in Section 5 LINK of the manual. When I load this into the cnc (fadal 4020 with 88HS in format 2)...
Anyone?? I tried reducing the program to limit what could be wrong and it still doesn't work:
%
O1001 (WARM UP 10)
# Clear (Clears all variables)
# V1 = V1 + 500.
# R1 = V1

I'm trying to write a warm up program that steps through rpm values. I found you can use Variables in Section 5 of the manual but I couldn't find how to initialize or set them. When I load this into...
working ok at 4800RPM (125 SFM), 9.6 IPM (0.002 IPR) with a HSS bit.
I just tried 15 ipm at 9700 rpm with 0.25" peck, it snapped on the second hole.
Fun times.
Gonna try .05 peck
I was looking at those short length bits, McMaster doesn't have them small enough though.
Strictly looking at the math, those speeds don'e make sense. that's about 103 SFM and 5 thou IPR, pretty...
After seemingly figuring out m3x1.5 rigid tapping (just needed to put a drop of oil in each hole before) I'm somewhat struggling with drilling the 0.098" holes 0.5" deep in 6061. I broke two bits...
Following error is zero while standing still. I'm working on a test block to check dimensions/performance. So you are saying I can adjust the sig pot while running the 05811 program to get to 595 and...
I definitely agree with wanting to go through it, but at the same time I don't want to damage anything and the steps in the manual assume a pretty high level of understanding which is where I'm...
I added the 813. It was on the 820 before.
I'm really super hesitant to go twiddling with these settings but I agree going to the single phase voltages might require some calibration.
I...
Yea, exactly why I posted the result. Hopefully someone else can benefit from this thread.
I think it didn't error because it was in the TC routine and it wasn't directly related to the tool...
It works!!!
I was able to get a local fadal guy on the phone. He had me try a g0g90z3 move and it tripped the over current limit. Adjusted the overload parameter from 2 to 3 and it worked. As a...
Thay plug was very difficult to remove but all of the contacts looked good. Previously, I was able to get an atc fault by unplugging one of the TC limit switches.
What makes you think it's a TC...
I unplugged all of the cube relays and tugged/wiggled the black rectangle ones, the circuit breakers, and the connections to the two caps. No change.
Oh ok, gotcha, thanks. Yea, earlier I swapped few relays on that board around trying to debug. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.
I don't think I have the pcb-0254 board, unless it might be named something else?
I did find this connector unplugged, pic attached. Anyone know what it might go to? It's on the lower right corner...
I unplugged the end of travel sensor for the atc, got an 'atc did not reach spindle" error or similar. I'll investigate your second point and report back shortly.
DI-DD appears to be for a dual arm tool changer, I think what I have isn't that. Pic attached
Just tried that. It worked!
kidding. I did try it but no Bueno :(
I've Googled many pages deep and tried everything I've found. It's either something happened during the move that doesn't...
Re-seating the co-ax cables didn't help. And yea, I'd agree step 15 is where it's hanging.
I've had it at 100 psi but tried it at 120 (input, regulated to 85 on the machine regulator)
On the di-ds screen I can see both atc 'limit' switches, the atc over limit switch (atc fault) (it is...
G53 g01 z3.0 worked fine
after resetting the e-stop during a tool change I can jog up past where it stopped.
I didn't mess with any Setp parameters, any I should check specifically?
I have a...
I really don't think it's the TC as it comes over fine, it's when the Z axis starts moving is when the error happens. Also, the sensor on the TC spindle for vertical crash detection works properly.
I cleaned both of those along with the bar that triggers them. I can also see both bits change on the di-ds screen.
Also, setto didn't do anything. :(
I agree it's probably a chip someplace. Which drawing are you talking about? There are a bunch of assemblies and each one has a #15.
I'll try that, thanks. The turret seems to be working as I expect.
Rapid has been at 25% this whole time.

Yep, I've been searching a lot and trying everything I've found. I even tried moving CS down as far as it'll go without crashing into the tool changer plate.
The first job is a 3 min cycle time...
