That's the way we did it, rewrite your EIA code into a manual unit and copy it using the offset units I mentioned above, that way you can restart if you need to run it again when sizing in.

Would it not be easier to do in Mazatrol? Or is there a reason you can't do it in Mazatol.
M98 P0001 should be sub program call 0001 being the number of the sub program.
Put your drilling...
I have done that before with a dvd player believe it or not. Just went to turn it on and zap, static shock. No buttons on the front panel or the display worked after that.
I run a Mazak V550 with that type of tool changer and you need to call up the tool first then use M06. It does toolchange if you don't but not always to the correct tool. ;)
The problem we had with our VTC-20 was the Y axis bed? (not sure if that's it's name) would fill with swarf blocking the flow of coolant back into the machine. When the X axis rapids about it sloshes...
Use the OFFSET unit to set the centre of each hole as X0 Y0 then call you eia program. Works a treat. You can get the X and Y values from the graphic screen if you leave the WPC at X0 Y0 and run it...
Do you mean BT and CAT? The only difference I have noticed is CAT holders only go into the toolchanger one way, BT can go in either way. There may be a difference in prices or in syles of holders you...
Just be sure to get the bore size right and it's fine. Used to machine a 6mm hex in 316 handles (thousands of them) and it was fine.
I'll also vouch for Wohlhaupter boring heads. Used a few and they are really good. Also used Kelch heads, they're quite good, but I think they're more expensive.
One thing I learned the hard way,...
Also known as Button Pusher.
G28 sends the machine to the factory home point. You could use G30 to send it to a second reference position, I can't remember exactly how you set that in the parameters though. We use this in our...
Do you not have a 00 or common offset alongside g54-59 on the offset page? Any value you put in this offset will adjust all the other offsets 54-59, by that amount. You could put a Z offset in this...
I have a pair of Dickies boots at the moment that seem to be holding up quite well.
I use a Leadwell CNC mill with a 10M control on it. Is there anything specifically you need to know?
We would get about 15mins tip life cutting alloyed steels, then use another edge. Cutting aluminium, inserts can last for days or weeks before being changed, and thats in a heavy production...
You get these installed from Renishaw also. We got them from them, not Mazak.

If you look here it also has a table pallet on the EDM. Maybe that's what he means.
As long as you don't have any open wounds and used reasonable protection i.e gloves, I think you should be ok. Just be sure to get scrubbed when you're finished. I have done similar in the past and...
You should do fine at the training course, they are not bad, and usually suited towards the novice. I am speaking from the UK of course so I have no idea what it's like stateside.
It certainly does save time when it's up and running. It's also handy for offsetting the theta value when using with pcd holes etc.
What is your experience? And how good are you at picking things up?
Beryllium copper will turn your coolant green.
The probe I used had a ceramic stylus so if you did smack it too hard, it broke without damaging the main body. If you have a real bad screw up and smack the body, well that's an expensive mistake to...
Yes Beryillium Copper does age with a darkish copper colour, but as Geof says, it can be a bugger to machine and does produce the toxic dust. I am speaking from a milling point of view by the way.
I worked on a VTC-20C, which had a Renishaw system installed, it was on the M Plus control though. Seemed to fit right in, I think any extra software needed came from Renishaw. Only problem was that...
That's a good attitude to have, I hope they have the same attitude towards learning. :)
You need to use M29 S500 before the G84 line to synchronise the spindle I believe, and take out the S500 M03 part
The place I worked, the bosses were more of a mind to get things done quickly rather than spend time mucking about with things that are not needed. I would have liked to use it, but they had other...
The one on the right looks like a standard internal grooving tool to me.

I assume the Z axis is not near the limit switch, sometimes you need to "back off" the axis before it will home in. And look for chips means see if there is any "swarf" or metal cuttings there.
