I needed bigger one so I actually bought a CNCRouterparts kit and build 2'x4' one. Which have been working good so far.
I had no time to build custom one anymore :) , I will post picture somewhere...
I got one for sale ..
Is this machine never getting finished ?
to replace axis driver you need to get one of these http://www.geckodrive.com/geckodrive-step-motor-drives/g250x.html, it is simple to replace once you open the enclosure you pullout the main board...
I'm not giving up on the machine yet, I just can't figure out what's wrong with it at this time and need to use it. I was just trying to cut a square and I noticed it wasn't square but when I took...
I have tried everything to fix this but nothing seemed to work so what I did is just tilt the gantry little bit so its making straight cuts, and it looks like it works even though there is something...
The base measures the same front and back same as rails.... But when I put the gantry to get square cut my x rails looks like this when I put square against them and gantry...
So I'm guessing my...
Here is how it is..
anybody have ideas how this can happen ?
well... another interesting update.....
Since it was still cutting out of square I tried too see the squareness from back side of the gantry , it wasn't squared to the x rails( don't know why)...
I have made aluminum spacers to put into the gantry tube so the whole gantry can't shift out of square it seems to be working, I have realigned both x rails , both rails are square to the gantry but...
Well.... So far I have found that my x rails are probably 1/16 off from each other but both are still square to gantry ... weird.......I tried loosen the bearings I have added to the left side and...
Well that problem was solved, now I have another one.
Machine is not cutting to square.
It is about 1/16 off on 15" length. My Left and right sides are dead squared to the gantry no loose...
I had almost same problem on my when I was cutting, Square wasn't square the gantry was moving. so I have added bearings to the left side as well, you can see that on my build page.
Since then it...
Makita is working good, no problems with it at all. The diameter is about 2.5" so it can be use with the clamps in plans. there could be some small change to make it fit, but it should work fine. I...
I'm using the one that shown in the manual but I might have over tighten it I think. There is no other slippage because it always went to same spot I even cut it twice in row to see and it always...
Cut another piece and now is matching the drawing so it was my move per travel settings
No it won't if it little shorter it will give you little more clearance, Bearings are attached to different part I think its #3, and #4 on one side.
If you're only 1/32" off the you will be fine, none of these parts are have to be made 100% accurate. It helps to get it as close as you can but it doesn't have to be. That is why you can build this...
So I think I fixed it. I went with tape measure and recalibrated it, no it looks it moves correctly , but the real test will show when I try to re-cut the piece. The whole thing was off only about...
ok, so I think my problem is units per move ... but when I use tape measure and go from 0 to 14" its about correct now but when I calibrate it to digital caliper which can go only 6" it is off with...
haven't checked the machine yet , but found out something interesting the cutouts are all the correct size no matter where they are located on the piece, but the whole thing is 1/16 longer.
Could...
when I open the file in Aspire it is in Inches so i don't its issue there. Not sure about loosing steps but Cutting at 30in/min and about 0.0625 DOC dont's think that is problem there either. I'm...
The Part appears to be actually about 1/16th longer
Maybe the belt is stretching ? I can see its getting bigger little by little from start its not all the way around. it goes from one side to...
about a 1/16th off ... but I need this to be accurate
I have cut other files and converting them same way and they always cut fine
I just tried to Cut some frame for R/C helicopter today and then tried to put it against the original one and the size is off.
I design the parts in Solidworks and then export them to DXF and open...
I don't have Dust collector and only use Shop-vac . I don't get any saw dust anywhere and my shop-vac is only 2.5HP
Maybe if your Computer power supply is bad it was sending low signal possibly ? I do computer repairs (from time to time) .... and have seen mouse not acting as it should just because of power supply.
Here you go.....
If you have a Dell pc that won't turn on, Chances are that you have a power supply problem. Most of the time the power light will be flashing
Orange.

Also I have found videos, the guys speaks Russian but he is using only 24V power supply so I don't think its power supply issue.
