Does anyone know where to buy 3 phase stepper motors that are nema 23, and have more than 300 oz-in torque? The biggest I've seen are the keiling/leadshine motors that are about 280 oz-in. I'd like...
I'd really like customizable shortcuts.
They're real. I can see oil coming through the other side (when the stars align...).
Man, for the life of me I can barely get any oil to go into any of the 9 ball oiler ports on my new g0602. I tried the oil bottle that came with the lathe, and the autozone one I use for my tormach...

Hey guys,
I just ordered a g0602, and am working on ordering some accessories. One thing that would save me some money is to find a way to use all of my existing TTS tool holders that I have for...
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting a g0602 that I plan on CNCing. I'd like to be able to use it manually as well. Has anyone done this? I'm curious what the best way to do it would be. Anybody...
How do you do this again? I did a while ago, but forgot the process. Do you just disconnect one line at a time and make sure oil is flowing through?
After taking a look with better lighting, there's no rust on it. Just one little dot near one of the ways that wiped right off. I lubed everything up real well before running it and no issues. I...
So, I haven't used my PCNC 1100 in about a year. It looks like there's a small amount of surface rust on the ways. It's been in my garage with a dehumidifier, but the dehumidifier failed sometime...
Sorry I haven't had a chance to respond. I plan on helping... I just have to finish a couple projects first. If anyone else has a pendant and wants to give me remote access to the machine, I think I...
I called a couple weeks ago, and they said I was the first person to ask about the source code. I think it might just be the motion source code. Almost all of the UI is written in python, so you can...
Are you testing with a PCNC 700 config? I've been testing with an 1100. I'll have to check to see if there are any relevant differences.
OK, I wrote a tiny little script to copy the files in the place. Download http://justinmitchell.net/pp/pendant.tbz (with firefox, or whatever) and copy it to your usb drive. Then plug it in and...
There's an error here in my instructions. It looks like the OS mounts the USB drive as a subdirectory of ~/gcode/USB/. To find out what that directory is, type "ls ~/gcode/USB", then insert that...
Yeah, I was really happy it worked on the first try. I just grabbed the latest version from the repository, despite the fact that PP appears to be based on 2.6.0-pre.
wtopace, it's the normal one from the linuxcnc repository. Nothing special!
Ah man! I really wanted to make some parts while he wasn't looking. Oh well....
Anyways, let's install the hal_input extension. This is part of the normal linuxcnc distribution, and interfaces...
Sent you a PM. I'd like to try using TeamViewer for the next couple steps.
OK looks good. The next step is going to be to copy a couple files to your computer. Are you running the latest version of pathpilot? 1.8.2?
Justin
Alright, the first thing I'm going to have you cut & paste some stuff from the shell so we can see how it gets recognized.
1. Unplug the pendant (if it's plugged in)
2. Power up your pathpilot...
Dave,
I don't know linuxcnc/PP well enough to answer that question with 100% confidence, but I'm pretty sure you could. It would probably be harder to configure than the base linuxcnc though....
I messed around w/ the HAL extensions and have had some luck. PathPilot doesn't come with the linuxcnc-standard hal_input extension, so I compiled and installed it. So far it works fine for my xbox...
I installed PathPilot, and it works with my Series I. I also got a generic xbox controller to work on it. If you guys want to get your Vista pendants working, start a new thread and give me the link...
I talked to Tormach, and they said that PP will work with my older machine. So I'm going to order it and set it up after I return from vacation.
Of my garage or the NASCAR shop? Unfortunately the "clean" version of my garage looks absolutely filthy compared with the other pics in this thread. I did clean it though!
And no... I usually...
Hehe, I enjoyed that reference. I interviewed for a NASCAR team and was AMAZED at how clean their shop was. You could eat off the floor of the machine shop. Not a chip in site, except in barrels.
...
Haha, I'll take a look after I get PP setup :)
Ah, nice Pickled. Good to know! I'll def order a CD from them then. I'm a Linux Sysadmin during the day... so I'd much rather run PP.
In the meantime, I'll try running the motor tuning and see how...
