You'll have to edit the Z and all the feed rates as well as some other things in each file. It can be done. It usually doesn't take long to get tired of that. Cut2D or CamBam would be good place...
You can probably generate the hpgl, dmpl, or gpgl code and edit it to work. You might even be able to get the post processor in VM to do that for you. Most plotters, that I know of, has a brain. ...
Which version of the software are you using? I think the newer version can make G-code for a machine. But I don't think it will work as a controller software.
With the laser it seemed to suggest 3d scanning. But your right the software is useless for that application. Maybe that's why they didn't put any clear screen-shots. I don't think your missing...

The Windex type cleaners can cause the spider cracking. Mild hand dish washing detergent and water is usually the best thing to use. Also a microfiber cloth. Another cleaning idea might be a lent...
How is it cleaned? I'm guessing the sample chips aren't very heavy. And the hanger bracket is fused or glued in place. Also how is it being fabricated? Flame polishing, lubrication? I had a...
Are the holes where the spider cracking a mounting point? If so then is there a bushing of some sort to allow the acrylic not to bind? For something that size I would go with 1/4 or thicker...

I don't use the probe and the wire was already in place. I don't have limit switches currently, but will be adding...
Just out of curiosity what was the solution?
I wonder if a auxinc#P#B# in the wincnc.ini would work for the 0-plate

By the way did you put a resistor and or diode on the line?
On a Wincnc machine
Make a plate attach a wire.
Plug into the Z - home input.

We have a machine that uses a Wincnc controller. X Y and Z are all Servo motors. My understanding is that each servo has a indexer on it to relay position back to the controller. Maybe I got this...
It's good to find out what was wrong. Is there any preventive or regular maintenance plans or before starting on a time consuming project? Just a thought.
