well yes if you have cnc'd the lathe there would be no need for the gears as thread configurations, speed blah blah would all be handeled by the cnc program like (mach3). You could keep the banjo...

Went into HF yesterday to order a mill finally.....well ...no more X3 and the round columnrong fu type that was 899.00 is now 1150.00 + shipping.....
and all direct to store...
i use both, i made the piston version...they both work just fine
