I could see them capping the lines of code at some point...
The way I read it, it will only spit out the tool paths with the same tool at a time. So if you have a 2D adaptipve followed by a 2D Contour with the same tool, then those will go in the same...
Did anything ever come from this? I'd love to upgrade to PP from Mach3 on my NM-145, but I'm clueless as to where to start.
Is the hardware too old at this point?
I have the original spindle...
I don't know for sure, but it sounds like you would end up with a master-slave relationship. Where one motor is doing the grunt work and the other is constantly "catching up"
Sent from my Nexus 4...
Alright, I'm away for work right now, but I'll be back home on Thursday and I'll test the socket and post pictures of the motor wiring.
Thank you again.

This is how I work as well. I'll start with a 2D layout in AutoCAD. The second view is either in my head or drawn, depending on how complicated it is, then when I'm satisfied with the overall...
Hi all,
I have an NM-145 that I bought during the closeout sale and Novakon sent me the Mach3 xml file for the mill.
Is the feedrate shown on mach3 in IPM? Say if I type in
G01 X3 F2
Does it...

Have fun. :)
Uh-oh :(
I made myself a worse and more important problem last night. I
crashed the mill while plunging a 2 flute 0.500" diameter square End
Mill through a 1/4" Thk piece of AL6061.
Spindle...
That probably would have been handy...
But no, I just stuck a Flat Head Screw Driver and pried the pulley away from the dark grey cover below it. Doing a little on either side at a time. It wasn't...
Nevermind guys, the pulley needed to be pried off. I got the spindle apart and the Anti-Spin pin ground down to fit in all my collets.
That was a pain though, I hope I didn't damage any bearings...
Got those 4 bolts removed (marked with the red arrow in the previous picture)
Did not help. Now I'm not not sure what to do next >.<
Hi guys, I'm stuck and could use some advice.
I'm working on removing the spindle so I can turn down the anti-rotating pin that captures the collet.
I got the spindle assembly out of the mill...
I haven't tested mine yet, but I remember reading one of the older threads in this section (while researching) that someone measured >0.001 backlash.
Hi all, I got my mill in and set up. So far I've only used Mach to do some drilling and facing but everything looks like its running.
A couple of problems on arrival:
The Right Angle fitting to...
Hi, still waiting on it actually.
Khai said it would be about 4weeks then he said they were running a week behind.
I'll email and get an update.
I did ask for extended wiring on the cabinet so I...
thank you for all the information guys.
After a few emails back and forth with Khai, I feel a little more confident now.
The restriction on the X axis is something I can work around, probably...
Also, can anyone tell me if it is possible to over travel the X axis to drill holes on 15.300 centers?
Thank you
Hi guys,
I'm still on the fence about whether or not to buy a NM-145 while they are still in stock.
The concerns I'm having are about learning the CAM and mill control software. I had a college...
Hi can anyone tell me in layman's terms the difference and benefit of rigid tapping vs using a tapping head like a Tapmatic?
Thank you,

Hi all,
First all admit I'm still very much a newbie at this, but have been capable of making the parts I needed for awhile now.
After thinking I could improve the surface finish by fixing the...
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if a Timing Belt with a 10mm pitch will mesh with Worm Gear with a pitch diameter of 10mm?
I'm trying to save on width, and I'd like to not have to add another gear...
Compared to the tailstock, looks like my 10"
I have the same from Little Machine Shop for just a few dollars cheaper.
LittleMachineShop.com - Vise, 4" Quick
The only problem I have with it, is its not really convenient to make soft jaws...
swivel Vise, probably a Shars or Enco.
You cant rotate past about 50 degrees without removing the mounting bolts supplied with the vise.
I just wanted to check before I cut the bolts off shorter,...
Great, thank you.
Hi.
on the HF 7x10 Mini-Lathe, can you mount a bar through the chuck like you can on larger lathes, so that you can work on the end of a long bar?
I have some 15" long rods, that I just need to...
The first time you drill a hole, it will always be over-sized compared to the size of a drill bit. This is from heat expansion and the chips clogging the flutes of the drill.
For holes that need to...
That looks like a very nice finish on the bore of the AL cube.
Great job.
