I skipped the butyl and went to silicone for mine. Much easier to remove if it needs to be moved. Only leak I had was a screw for the window on the left side.

I can confirm that rigid tapping works on the 1100MX. It works really well actually. Ran a small 3mm form tap today and had no issues.
