Hi,
I'm currently building my CNC router (just recieved all parts) and I discovered small metal milling machines and lathes and I'm more interested by that than by CNC. I just wondered for how...
I have a xylotex 3 axis board and it says I have to set Vref before using it. How do I do that?
Hi guys,
I just wondered what's the price of a new bridgeport mill.
Thanks
Everyday I'm amazed to see how helpfull and cool people are on this website. Thanks for your little bit of french speaking. I didn't even realised it was a web traduction. I just recieved my bearings...
Parle tu vraiment français* ? D'où vient tu ? Moi je suis de la rive-sud de Montréal.
Finally I just ordered from MSC. The salesperson wasn't used to getting international orders but it went well and I was pleased with the service (perticularely if I consider that english isn't my...

I saw some videos of homemade machines but their very scattered and difficult to find. I taught it would be cool to start a thread with only videos of homemade CNC's. If you got a video of your...
Hi Jerry,
Looks like there's a lot of canadians out there.
While searching for a leadscrew company I remember that I found one that had a distributors with locations in almost all canadian...
YOu mean where I'll buy them,
I will order tommorow via MSC.
They ship to canada and I'll save a lot.
3 precicion 1/2-10 + 6 bearings + 3 quality couplers = 200usd
+ 3 dumpster nuts = 250 total $...
Thanks for the help but the drawind contains about 20 gears, would be able to extrude them? I don't want to ask you something that will take too much time. You could extrude them in one object?
no, I can't
It opens DXF's in drafting but I want to be able to use the profiles to do an extrusion ( a gear).
doesn't work either
Does somebody know how to convert a DWG to be used to make a part. When I import a dwg it opens in drafting and it's useless because I can't get the profiles in part design to use them.
Thanks
Oups, sorry but why don't use mach 3 instead of mach 2?
Look at their website in the support section,
they have a lot of very complete videos that explain everything.
Good luck with your project
Mathieu
thanks guys, finally I will use 1/2 - 10 with dumpster's nuts
They said that thei only ship to a few big customers in Canada.
Anyway, I found what I need at MSC for a better price and will use dumpster's anti-backlash nut. My screws, flange, couplers, nuts and...
Also, their anti backlash nuts have a ''Maximum standard preload of 6 lb). Is it enough for my machine. I don't think Dumpster's nuts have more preload than that.
Hi,
I'm looking for ACME screw and the only goor solution I found for now is 3/8-10 screws (bigger= a lot more expansive. It will be for a 18*12 table (moving table so about 24 in max unsupported...
Hi,
I planned to order some linear motion products from Mcmaster Carr but big deception, despite what they seem to say on their website, they don't ship in Canada. Do you guys know a similar site...
Hell yeah,
If you ruin this machine, I don't think your boss will like that. (chair)
You'll either get fired or take a beating :boxing: (or both)
thanks
Ill use Xylotex 269 oz-in.
Wich couplers would fit and be not too expansive?
I could use the bigger one of the same type but it has an inside diameter of 1/2 in. I don't think it would grip well...
Hey guys,
watch those videos, it's really awesome in perticular if your not used to seeing real CNCs in action;

Try the pawn cutting and the...
What do you use for couplers?
I planned to use Acetal Helical Beam Coupling (Mcmaster no. 2505K132).
I would turn the screw's end to either 3/8 or 1/4 (OD 1/2) both to fit in the bearings and...
