I was given these motors at the beginning of the year, and due to some space restraints, I can no longer set up my CNC router, and I don't have a place to store these. I know they are MAE motors. ...
What is a good 2D cad program? I have tried most of the free ones and they aren't exactly what I am looking for. I want something cheap as I am still a student. I am used to autocad and tubrocad,...
that sucks.
I had that happen to the bearing supports (well pretty much main support)
I think I will go with a mix of HDPE, MDF, and plywood. I have most of this around around anyways.
cheap as in pretty much as cheap as I can get it.
I keep going over ideas in my head.
If I make it out of HDPE, its going to cost me around 100 bucks for the plastic, a rough estimate for...
I am trying to do it fairly cheap.
Ok I am thinking of building a nice small mini router to make and drill PCBs. I have a Dremel XPR I can use as a spindle.
I was thinking of using something like 1/4-20 rod as the leadscrews. It...
HDPE was really easy to cut. It may depend on the tools you have though.
just comign to check in. I am starting to work on my jgro again... I started but had a problem so I had to start over (luckly I had spare mdf to make up for the mistake, but no time). I have a few...
So I was looking at this months ad, and there is a sale this weekend and I need a few tools to pick up.
Front page they advertise a scroll saw for 50 bucks. Should I stay away from this or will...
yeah MDF is what you want.
Predrill all the holes. Also, woodscrews will work when building, instead of tapping and using bolts.
computer cases are generally steel or aluminum. The aluminum is thinner then the steel but the thickness depends on who made the case, and the quality.
Case modding is my main hobby.
matt for doing the big pieces, trying using a ruler or a long piece of metal as a guide. a 2x4 may not be straight enough. It could be slightly warped
ok I voted need more information on the poll.
But after reading the about page on their site, I could go either way.
My feelings:
According to this, medicare, social security, and stuff like...
remember to get a nice new blade for the table saw.
As for tools. A nice set of measuring tools. I use those the most, then a hand drill to do holes. I find the drill press I own too crappy for...
I like if you keep the prices low you could get some good money.
I like the bearing mounts, things like that.
Even almost a kit would rock. Like with Joe's2006.
Might have to get JGRO's...
do what glidergider did and use wood screws to put the thing together. I plan on doing the same to save time (and money, cause I got wood screws coming out everywhere)
I would say my skills are very basic. I learned pretty much everything in machine shop in school (a class I almost took again this coming year, but I need credits, since I already took it I had to...
quick question, since I know you did it.
What Size wood screws did you use? I know to predrill and all, I was just wondering
haha seems as I was maybe reading a little too quick. Plus it was pretty late at night when I look at this stuff.
I knew I made a mistake somewhere, I wouldn't think you would mess up on the...
hmm so it turns out it is cheaper to order the board kit and the motors seperate then it is to buy a cnc kit on hobbycnc
Kit w/ motors is 280 + 16 shipping and handling
Kit AND motors (seperate)...
oh man so its been too long away from this project. Every time I go into the garage this things bugs me to be worked on, and I think I finally have some time.
So I finally have some spare money...
I watched the show on them too.
They said it is safer using a heli then it is to use a truck.
They said it pairs a lot. They usually use the heli's in hard to reach places.
On the show they...
i want to get in on this.
First off, I think its awesome you are making automag bodies, automags are some of the nicest guns out there.
Second: only company I would worry about getting sued by...

Print them off and put them in a 3 ring binder (I used page protectors)

yea I can't wait. I have a few older guys (who have helped me cut the wood) waiting to see it up and running.
I am getting tons of help.
Now what is real fun is using a spade bit to drill the...
