Right Click at red arrow and that should give you what you need
Using the Cross Section as Burrman suggests works very good as well and is easier you may want to try it as well. What ever works is good

Would this be acceptable? Its not the same shape but it looks good to me
Is this what you need
I have done it in V27 but it is a lot of steps
Had to draw an inner and out spiral and then the thread profile and break it in halves and attach it to the spiral and then skin and then add all...
I have done stuff in the past using the Skin function and seems to work well
Seems to break into segment automatically

Could also
I did all of these in plain old solids I think Al did some video in Afterdark in Youtube on some text on objects in Bobart
Text on cylinder - Vectorize Text - then Project - Then Extrude
If you are talking about projecting I think you have to Utilities/Explode
Text on sphere Extruded into sphere then used scaled up sphere and its surface to slice off text

Skin work picures
[QUOTE=soxfan963;2255408]Hey everyone,
I'm having some trouble with a guitar neck drawing. I've attached 2 images to help illustrate what I'm working on. The area I need help with is where the...
The way I did this using SKIN a little work though I put the PRS angle 7 deg. not sure what Paul uses for angle.
Had to use some work plane surfaces to get the geom correct but is doable with...
I agree in wood probably would work
I would thick the calculations for a tapered tool would be huge compared to a ball due the massive variance of diameters from different deg. of tappers
Good...
if I may ask what king of shaped object in a 3 axis strategy would this be cutting
In a 3axis strat wouldn't a center cutting tool be required?
Utilities/Explode
other ways also but that might work ok for you
In the next window after contour ramping in parameter setting the -- depth per pass / depth of cut makes in easy
2 Axis -- Pattern -- Contour Ramping
Thanks Rob

I used 0 for the end rad Seems to work with some Z action maybe you can try one with a more complex shape.
My old computer started smokin and shaken and rockin and then went into a deep...

What do you think about using Variable Radius?

Didn't care for V23 as much as V21 but one thing about V23 if you have the Dongle at least down the road you may have a program
If this is what you need I used to spiral a inner and a outer and connected them with a line and then skinned then extruded the surface for thickness and then added to a cylinder. (Have the output...
Rob
are you able to get it to start on the narrow width on the same example having trouble starting in that area.
What you have shown is really good to know
Thanks
RAF.
Think I found the problem at least so far it works
Have all layers turned on in layer Box or Show All Layers checked before simulation
With a little more experimenting I found that it seems...
Has anyone run into this error? Target definition is not present
sometimes I get this error sometime it works just fine
V27
Thanks
RAF.
Good to know
A while back was there some conversation about the mesh having to be water tight if so does it do a good job at that?
wonder if the new backplot in v30 would pick up the error
